Maurten Solid 160 (12 Servings)

Solid 160 is Maurten's bar - a go-to fuel source for the in-between moments. The daily transitions - on the way to the pool, the track, the race, the trail-side break, or when heading home from training. Fuel made easy.

Gold medalists, world champions and record breakers don't stop when they reach the top. They keep striving - and so does Maurten. The Solid 160 is the result of Maurten's ongoing process of athlete-led improvement. They took on board the feedback of elite athletes using the Solid 225, reevaluated and made performance-orientated changes. Matching the 40 grams of carbohydrates that athletes can consume using the Gel 160 and Drink Mix 160, the Solid 160 brings the bar in line with other Maurten 160 fueling options so whichever fuel mode you choose, measuring your energy is simple.

Staying ahead of the game, Maurten raised the bar with the Solid 225 and refined it with the Solid 160. Adopting an ongoing approach to innovation and striving for continuous improvement, Maurten worked closely with athletes in real-world situations to bring you refined formulations that adapt to requirements. The Solid 160 is an evolution - a direct result of athlete collaboration. Athletes are always on the go so the Solid 160 has been designed to work with those moments where training and racing fit around everyday life, working with your routine before, during and after training.

Before: Solid 160 can be used before training to load carbohydrates and keep fibre low as a great pre-race breakfast or as a snack in the days leading up to a big goal.

During: This new bar is an ideal fuel to consume during low-to-medium intensity endurance sessions over 2 hours. It helps to add variety to your fueling without compromising the absorption rate of the carbohydrates.

After: Solid 160 is a great tool for replenishing carbohydrates quickly when hard training sessions or races need a reward.

Split into two equal 20-gram servings for optimised fueling, the Maurten Solid 160 is a two-piece oat and rice-based chewable fuel. This fast, light, low-fibre and carbohydrate-rich serving is your new go-to fuel. As well as this, the Solid 160 has been made narrower and longer, making the shape more performance-orientated and able to fit better in the hand or pocket. With a solid wrapper encapsulating 40 grams of carbohydrates in two easy 20-gram servings, the Maurten Solid 160 allows you to eat a whole 40-gram serving or save half for later depending on your needs so you can break down your training, race and fueling plan. Less compacted, both the texture profile and ease of consumption have been improved for use during exercise. This makes it easier to chew and therefore easier for you to fuel.

Timing of fueling is everything, even more so during longer sessions. Maurten's Solid enables athletes to mimic their normal food pattern mid-race or when training. To maintain balance and rhythm whilst limiting gastrointestinal stress, the Solid allows athletes to consume textured, chewable fuel that would usually be in the form of a meal. Solid is a dose of real food on long races or steady training over 2 hours - something to bite and chew with no loss of efficiency when fueling the body is required, meaning chewing your fuel won't slow you down.
