Merrell MQM Flex 2 Walking Shoes

Fast in the forefoot and protective in the rearfoot, the second iteration of MQM features tear-resistant athletic uppers, a flexible cushioned midsole and our mountain-grade outsole. It combines all the best features of a trail runner and a hiker into one fast, protective shoe.

Breathable Upper

Designed to keep your feet comfortable and ventilated the Merrell MQM Flex 2 Walking Shoes have been constructed using mesh upper. The mesh acts as a lightweight second skin to ensure you are able to go the distance in complete comfort. Perforations in the fabric encourage cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up to create a healthy environment for your foot to thrive in. As well as this, a TPU toe cap also features on the upper to provide protection for loose debris and rocks so you can tackle any terrain with complete confidence. A bellows tongue keep debris from entering inside the shoe whilst the lacing system is integrated with the tongue to provide a secure fit. The lacing system works to lock down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

EVA Midsole

The midsole has been constructed using different technologies to ensure long-lasting comfort and increased cushioning. EVA within the midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. As well as this, Merrell's signature flexConnect technology has been used within the midsole to ensure enhanced ground connection. FlexConnects dual-directional flex grooves ensure a secure fit as well as natural and serious grip to deliver agility and stability on any terrain. An air cushion also feature in the midsole to provide shock absorption and stability. The air cushion features in the heel to reduce stress on the foot with each step; this, in turn, lesses the impact during heel strikes and helps to cradle the heel to maintain proper alignment. Completing the midsole is a kinetic fit base removable insole which provides flexible support for all-day wear. Contoured to your foot, the insole provides flexible intuitive support for connected and protected movements. Designed to gently support the foot in key areas of the foot to encourage muscles to stay in a relaxed athletic position. this helps to reduce fatigue.

Quantum Grip Rubber Outsole

Developed to provide traction and grip, the MQM Flex 2 has been constructed using a durable rubber compound. Ensuring multi-directional grip the outsole ensures traction on varied terrain ensuring confident footing whether you're hiking or out for a leisurely stroll in the local park. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. It is also highly durable meaning no matter what you throw at it, the MQM Flex will perform time and time again. The outsole enables confidence in the most extreme trail environments to keep you grounded at all times. Completing the outsole is a rock plate which provides added underfoot protection. The rock plate protects the feet from rocks and harsh terrain.
