The Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX is the latest innovation in hiking from Merrell. This new and improved generation of hiking shoes pairs the knowledge and trail insights from the best-selling hiking boot, the Moab, with the latest innovations from athletic hikers across the globe.

GORE-TEX Upper

Designed to provide comfort and protection, the Moab Speed 2 has been constructed using a lightweight Nylon ripstop and TPU upper. This works to provide lightweight breathability and protection to prevent injuries from scrapes and bumps on rocky terrain. Perforations within the fabric allow fresh air to circulate while hot, stifled air is released, keeping you feeling fresh on the go. The GORE-TEX waterproof membrane ensures exceptional waterproofing to keep you warm and dry in rainy conditions. This is integrated into the mesh upper to supply a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Featuring TPU overlays that keep uppers lightweight in mind, the shoes and your feet are protected from bumps and scrapes, and work to ensure extra energy is not lost on the climb upwards. An abrasive-resistant synthetic heel and a protective toe cap protect the feet from all angles. The padded collar keeps the fit snug and reduces the chances of water entering the shoe, while the Bellows tongue lies on the top of the foot to stop debris from entering. Heel and tongue pull tabs have been added to provide aid in fitting the shoes with ease while also being compatible with carabiners. Cleansport NXT treatment controls odour within footwear by bonding beneficial microbes to the surface of the fabric, helping extend the lifespan of the shoes. To complete the upper, the Moab Speed 2s feature traditional lacing systems to lock down the midfoot in a secure fit.

FloatPro Foam Midsole

Merrell's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light and durable feeling throughout the shoe. Ensuring ample underfoot cushioning, the midsole reduces shock from tough trails due to its absorbing properties. Supportive features within the foam protect areas such as the heel and the arch of the foot, specifically to prevent discomfort and possible injury. A Lightweight FlexPlate provides torsional rigidity, lateral stability and forefoot flexibility, assisting in reducing foot fatigue. It also shields the base of the foot from sharp debris below.

Vibram TC5+ Outsole

Providing exceptional traction over multiple terrains, including rain-slicked rocks and jagged trails. This foam has been formulated exclusively for Merrell, making it a one-of-a-kind grip. The rubber is high in durability, retaining its shape and structure to keep you up and out on your feet for miles upon miles. Vibram traction lugs also feature on the outsole and have been specifically designed to increase traction and shed debris with each step.
