Mizuno Wave Sonic 2 Women's Running Shoes

Experience a shoe like no other - perfectly created for you uptempo training. With the new developed ESS wave plate, this shoe generates enormous amounts of energy. Easy and lightweight.

AirMesh Upper

Airmesh uppers will encase each foot in breathable comfort. Airmesh is used to increase airflow into the upper, its perforations create a better and more healthy environment for your feet to thrive in. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the entire upper providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air. Mizuno has added their unique Dynamotionfit technology which is all about creating a shoe that works with the feet through the design and materials used to create it. The DynamotionFit system uses highly advanced motion capture and biomechanics technology. Mizuno has developed a design blueprint to engineer shoes that work with your foot throughout the gait cycle. in addition, the upper offers synthetic overlays that help with structural integrity, making sure that the upper stabilises the foot by providing a wrapped around fit and feel. thanks to the overlays as well as the asymmetrical construction the Wave Sonic 2 ensures a perfect fit for no compromise runs.

ESS Wave Plate Midsole

The newly developed ESS Wave plate placed in the midfoot area generates enormous amounts of energy and delivers a responsive running experience ideal for dynamic uptempo training. This, combined with the U4icX midsole delivers a dynamic cushioning-to-weight ratio that will give you your best performance. The U4icX cushioning compound is an evolutionary lightweight midsole that delivers stress-free cushioned rides with high rebounds. It gives an energised, euphoric and super-comfortable run. This light, evolutionary midsole absorbs impact and gives a higher rebound, thus fulfilling the most comfortable, energised run possible.

X10 Outsole

The Wave Sonic 2 features an X-10 outsole, which provides durability and traction. Made from extremely durable Mizuno carbon rubber, it allows longer wear in high impact areas and provides more traction at the heel strike. Lastly, zig-zag grooves reside in the forefoot that promotes a more responsive toe-off. The grooves additionally allow the shoe to flex where the foot naturally flexes providing a more comfortable running experience.

About Mizuno

Mizuno was founded in 1906 as Mizuno Brothers Ltd by Rihachi Mizuno and his younger brother Rizo, in Osaka. The shop sold western sundries, including baseballs, and then in 1907 began to sell order-made athletic wear. In 1910 the shop moved to Umeda Shinmichi and its name was changed to Mizuno Shop. In 1913 the firm began to manufacture baseballs and gloves. In 1933 Mizuno presented Star Line, the first Japanese made golf clubs. By 1935 its golf club showroom was the world's largest.

In 1941 the company name was changed to Mizuno Co., Ltd, and has remained the same since. The first American factory was established in Los Angeles, under the denomination American Mizuno in 1961.
