For many, the Senja will strike the ideal balance as a down jacket to do it all in the mountains, warm and protective enough in freezing conditions but still sufficiently light and packable to be carried. Particularly well suited to backpackers, mountaineers and skiers, it's a versatile jacket for everything from icy summits to valley boulders in the winter months.

The Mountain Equipment Senja Jacket has been designed using a DRILITE Loft 40D outer fabric that is totally windproof and highly water-resistant, protecting you from windchill as well as light showers. The outer fabric is coated with PU, keeping you drier in wet weather. The DRILITE Loft 40D is highly durable, protecting the jacket from knocks and scrapes when in the mountains. It is the ideal fabric for clothing and sleeping bags destined for serious mountaineering, climbing and backpacking in difficult conditions. The jacket has a 1500mm hydrostatic head, making it ideal for protecting high-quality down and synthetic insulation. A 90/10 700 fill power, RDS and CODEX-certified pure down filling keeps you warm when temperatures drop, providing a great warmth-to-weight ratio. The high-loft material traps body heat inside tiny pockets of air, providing warmth even when no longer active. The jacket features stitched-through baffle construction throughout, creating a lightweight feel perfect when you are on the move. The woven downproof 20 denier lining gives exceptional moisture transfer, comfort and packability. A Mountain HC Hood with an insulated collar provides extra elemental protection, keeping you warm and dry. The adjustable cuffs and dual tether hem drawcords help alter the fit for a personal feel while trapping heat (the hood is also helmet compatible). The arms have been cut for greater freedom of movement. A two-way YKK moulded centre-front zip allows easy on and off and regulates ventilation when zipped down and traps heat when fully up. Two zippered handwarmer pockets and an internal zipped security pocket provide plenty of space for essentials, while the stuff sack provides a space for the jacket when not in use.
