A warm and chunky high-loft fleece with a half-zip design for winter use and everyday layering. Whether camping out, staying in a draughty hut or out in the mountains, it's hard to beat the reassuring warmth of a really thick fleece.
This zip top from Mountain Equipment is soft and warm, providing excellent stretch and wicking properties, making it an ideal mid-layer for mountaineers and walkers alike. With its retro feel, the Highpile Top is at home everywhere, from bare mountain bothies to busy city streets. Made from 250 g/m² high-loft fleece, it traps heat in small air pockets, storing heat efficiently while drying quickly to keep you warm and cosy after an uphill climb. Durable EXOLITE 125 softshell fabric overlays on the shoulders are treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent), paying homage to Mountain Equipment's early fleece styles and reinforcing areas vulnerable to abrasion and thinning. A zippered chest pocket provides easy access and storage space for your essentials. Elasticated cuffs and hem seal out the wind while adjusting the fit precisely, keeping you comfortable and warm throughout wear. Overlocked, top-stitched construction throughout reduces chafing for increased next-to-skin comfort. Designed around Mountain Equipment's Alpine Fit and with excellent stretch, the Highpile Zip Top layers well while allowing for a complete range of movement. A YKK Vislon centre-front zip completes the top, improving ventilation and making on/off easy.
