The lightweight mesh swathes the midfoot to support the foot and increase ventilation to keep you cool. The mesh allows cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, at the same time allowing hot, humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. The increase in airflow creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in and ensures you remain comfortable when your session heats up. Supportive overlays have also been used on the upper to provide extra protection and resistance to abrasion, debris or sharp objects you may encounter while trail running.Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midsole to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

The midsole of the Montrail Caldorado III Trail Running Shoes have been designed to provide exceptional cushioning, flexibility and support. Montrail's signature Fluidfoam technology has been used within the midsole to provide smooth and soft cushioning that will support your feet on and off the trail. The foam cushions your foot as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces and propels you forward to give you an added spring in your step. The Fluidfoam midsole compound is also highly flexible and supportive meaning it allows you to move freely whilst still supporting the muscles to help prevent injury on treacherous trails. The midsole also features fluid guide technology which provides enhanced midfoot stability and a smooth ride on the trails. The fluid guide technology ensures multi-directional support and impact absorbing cushioning so you can go further for longer in complete comfort. Completing the midsole is a trail shield protection plate that ensures a smooth ride on uneven terrain. The protection plate provides torsion rigidity and tough forefoot protection for the trails.
