Montane Alpine Mission Pants

Take on the mountainside in lightweight comfort and protection with the Montane Alpine Mission Pants. With thermal, durable and non-restrictive material combined with highly-functional features will work to keep you on top when in exposed spots.

Constructed with an extremely thermal material, the pants will make sure that you won't feel exposed to any conditions when on the mountain. The material will keep a thin layer of air inside the bottoms, which will keep you at a comfortable temperature when the temperature is affected by high altitude. With supreme wind-resistance, the material will deflect all icy blasts away from you, preventing it from causing you discomfort. Air is still able to pass through for breathability, which will mean that when you start to increase the intensity, hot air building up can be replaced instantly and effectively. Using Montane's developed Granite Stretch, this material construction will allow the pants to stretch with your movements before returning back to their original shape without any lasting damage being caused. This will allow you to make movements feeling completely unrestricted. As well as this for more unrestricted movement, the pants have articulated knees. This will allow you to make large movements without any restriction whatsoever, making larger steps when climbing perfectly achievable without any hindrance. Coating the material there is Durable Water Repellency nylon which will instantly identify moisture before wicking it away in a short space of time. For further protection from the elements, the pants use Schoeller Kepratec Kevlar on the insteps. This extreme protective fabric was originally developed for motorcycle racing. High-tensile aramid fibres, such as Kevlar, ensure high durability as well as temperature stability in combination with a high level of clothing comfort. This results in temperature and tear-resistant fabric that will protect your clothing if you fall or bump it against a hard surface. When climbing at a higher intensity and your body begins to warm, two thigh vents can be opened to combat overheating. The mesh-lined vents can easily be opened and sealed when on the move, and they will allow a stronger flow of air in to keep you feeling cool and ventilated. For securing the pants on so they remain in a firm and strong position, there are removable braces. The braces can be adjusted easily to fit over your shoulders perfectly, and grippy silicone will hold the straps in place over your shoulders. Around the waist, there is a high rear waistband that is lined with a microfleece. The microfleece will feel soft against the skin, and will also retain heat. The waist has a hook and loop adjuster which will allow you to find a personalised and comfortable fit. Small items can be carried around with you securely in a number of zipped pockets. On the thigh, there is a large zipped pocket which has a lock zip. Additionally, there is another secure pocket on the rear. On the side, there are two mesh-lined hand pockets which can be used to warm your hands or carry valuables in for quick access. Towards the bottom of the pants, there is an adjustable gusset which can be loosened with a zip. This will add volume around the lower legs to accommodate mountaineering boots. As well as this, there are eyelets which will allow bootstraps to attach for a secure fit. Flat-lying seams within the pants will reduce the risk of irritation being caused by rubbing and chafing.
