Combining highly durable GORE-TEX Pro Shell with Montane's BARRIER and STORMGUARD advanced construction techniques, the Alta XT excels in extreme conditions. Offering uncompromising attention to wet weather protection and full garment breathability. Vital features such as Montane's PIVOT 3 hood, Twin YKK Aquaguard zipped chest pockets, and extended pit zip ventilation are carefully designed with gear compatibility in mind, working collectively to maximise functionality.

Constructed using GORE-TEX Pro and a plain weave recycled Nylon face, the Alta XT provides durable waterproofing built for life between a rock and a hard place. The 70 denier yarns with a smooth face and dull optic offer excellent abrasion and tear resistance and have been teamed with a solution dyed micro grid woven backer for added long-lasting wear and comfort. Utilising GORE's ePE membrane, the jacket provides a PFC/PFAS free DWR and membrane technology that works to keep you feeling dry and comfortable in wet weather conditions. Built on a Mountain Fit block with added volume, the Alta XT allows for technical layering systems for colder wet weather conditions, while a dropped rear hem provides additional coverage as you move, and sleeve articulation prioritises arm lift for whatever your adventure throws at you. Further enhancing the waterproofness of the jacket, STORM GUARD features on the inner of the centre front zip placket to prevent water from entering, and BARRIER technology at all apertures and hems helps to prevent water ingress in these areas.

A PIVOT 3 fully adjustable, helmet-compatible hood system features integrated front mountain safe adjustment points, rear speed adjustment and additional hood volume reduction, keeping you covered and able to customise the fit depending on your needs easily. The hood and hem both utilise premium Cohaesive one-handed adjustment systems for simple use in wet weather. The peak, hems and cuff tabs are laminated to reduce seams and weight whilst also improving durability. Fully adjustable, the hood, hems and cuffs help to provide complete protection in changing weather and offer you the perfect fit. An internal rear Neck Guard adds structure to keep you covered in wet and windy conditions.

SEW-FREE fully bonded pocket and zip installs help to reduce construction and weight whilst improving comfort, breathability and packability. This lightweight construction design prioritises protection and performance so you can continue with confidence knowing you're covered with the Alta XT jacket. A 25% reduction in seam tape ensures improved Full Garment Breathability (FGB) and durability when compared to Montane's AW24 equivalent products' average. Aiding breathability, pit zips can be adjusted to give extra ventilation when needed. Harness compatible, the jacket's design removes seams from high-wear areas to improve durability and comfort throughout wear. Additionally, OFFEST seam intersections improve the overall construction, durability and comfort of the jacket, minimising friction points for chafe-free wear.

Completing the Montane Alta XT jacket, a variety of pockets provide plenty of secure storage for essentials that you need to keep handy outdoors. Two SEW-FREE 24cm extended harness and pack compatible YKK AquaGuard Natulon recycled zipped chest pockets, and a single bonded internal YKK Natulon recycled zipped chest pocket and OFFSET stash pocket allow you to easily access belongings whilst also keeping them shielded from the rain.
