Plus, the Toe Protect rubber compound wraps the toes to reinforce the shoe's trail-worthy state, increasing its durability and defending feet against roots, rocks and other general hazards. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

Fresh Foam X Midsole

The newest version of Fresh Foam is a more energetic rebound than its predecessor. The full-length Fresh Foam keeps the cushioning consistent and improves the transition in the gait cycle. The top-bed foam and Fresh Foam X underfoot construction displaces heel impact and offers a responsive approach to cushioning. The Fresh Foam X Hierro V7s are still fitted with the New Balance signature plush, but firm and responsive cushioning.
