People love the idea of adventure in the great outdoors, but there's more to the natural landscape than fresh air and scenic views. For those who take going off the beaten path literally, there's the Fresh Foam X Hierro, a dedicated, off-road application of New Balance's best running technology.
Constructed from a close-knit engineered mesh, the upper of the Fresh Foam X Hierro V8 provides a high level of protection and durability. This breathable upper helps to keep out dirt and debris, therefore, allowing you to take on challenging terrains and changing paths. Due to the construction, the shoes allow for an optimum level of air to flow through the shoes, therefore keeping feet fresh and comfortable, even on your more intense trail running sessions. The upper has been engineered using a new process that utilises printing methods without the use of water and doesn't generate waste to help be more sustainably aware. The shoes will also provide a comfortable level of softness against your foot due to the lightly padded tongue, therefore ensuring the shoes don't chafe or irritate the feet. Plus, the Toe Protect rubber compound wraps the toes to reinforce the shoe's trail-worthy state, increasing its durability and defending feet against roots, rocks and other general hazards. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
The newest version of Fresh Foam has a more energetic rebound than its predecessor. The full-length Fresh Foam keeps the cushioning consistent, improves the transition in the gait cycle and uses even more natural materials to keep up with New Balance's commitment to be more environmentally friendly. The top-bed foam and Fresh Foam X underfoot construction displaces heel impact and offers a responsive approach to cushioning. The Fresh Foam X Hierro v8 is still fitted with the New Balance signature plush, but firm and responsive cushioning. The midsole is also able to follow the natural bending of the foot, allowing the feet to move comfortably in a range of directions.
A lighter compound than ever, the Fresh Foam X Hierro v8 features an impressive Vibram MegaGrip outsole which ensures traction and grip on varied terrain. This high-performance rubber compound gifts you with an unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity and optimal ground adaptability. The rubber is able to form a solid bond with the ground beneath it to ensure traction and control as you explore the unbeaten path. The shoes have a new lug construction which supplies you with better traction on gravel and loose dirt, allowing you to tackle awkward ascents and difficult descents.
