The 880 was built to provide consistent performance for the neutral runner. The Fresh Foam X 880v12 represents a new generation set-up of the silhouette's workhorse reliability with the smooth transitions of a reimagined dual-layer midsole.
Ensure your feet remain cool and comfortable as you run thanks to the engineered double jacquard mesh upper. The upper design creates a second-skin feel which adapts to your feet, moving with you in all directions. As well as delivering exceptional comfort, the upper also actively and efficiently wicks away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture to leave you feeling cool, dry and comfortable as you strive for the best results and performance. Additionally, cool air is encouraged to circulate, creating a drier, healthier environment for your skin to thrive. As well as this, a no-sew material application means reduced weight plus a minimal risk of rubbing and blisters; because everyone knows how those can ruin your day. A moulded external heel counter locks down the midfoot and helps to control heel movement so you'll always feel supported. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
The newest version of Fresh Foam is a more energetic rebound than its predecessor. The full-length Fresh Foam keeps the cushioning consistent and improves the transition in the gait cycle. The top-bed foam and Fresh Foam X underfoot construction displaces heel impact and offers a responsive approach to cushioning. The Fresh Foam X 880v12 is still fitted with the New Balance signature plush, but firm and responsive cushioning. The midsole is also able to follow the natural bending of the foot, allowing the feet to move comfortably in a range of directions.
A blown rubber outsole completes the Fresh Foam X 880v12, supplying a sticky grip for multi-directional traction. The rubber is able to withstand damage from uneven terrain to give you added confidence when out running. In addition to this, the rubber can create a solid bond of friction with a variety of different surfaces, crucial for control as you race around the roads. This will reduce the risk of injury from slipping or rolling your ankle, as you will be held in a firm and upright position. The outsole of the Fresh Foam X 880v12 provides you with a reliable and long-lasting race buddy.
