Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 42 GS Junior Running Shoes

Nike's ultra-responsive cushioning makes running feel like flying. New Pegasus, new heights. This Peg 42 is paired with lightweight foam and a springy Air unit underfoot for bouncy support and all-day comfort, whether lapping the track or the playground.

Engineered Mesh Upper

The upper of this junior Pegasus 42 has been crafted from an engineered mesh that's even more breathable than the previous model, while having a softer feel against the skin, for an irritation-free fit the moment you put them on. Perforations in the fabric encourage air to flow freely around the shoe, releasing built-up heat and creating a healthier environment for your little one's feet to thrive. Just like previous versions, the mesh is designed to stretch, moving with their feet as though the shoe was made for them, while providing a secure hold as you move through the gait cycle. A traditional lacing system completes the upper, locking down the midfoot, reducing in-shoe movement and enhancing support for distraction-free strides.

Nike ReactX Midsole

Providing the same soft, lightweight feel everyone loves, Nike uses ReactX foam to deliver a responsive ride while remaining durable for a long-lasting shoe. The foam's reactive nature means it absorbs impact when hitting hard, unforgiving surfaces below, then expels it through your next stride for a bounce-like effect, sparing joints and reducing the risk of injury. This energy-return technology slows fatigue while enhancing performance. Updated for the 42, Nike has used a heel Air Zoom unit to deliver an energetic feel and comfort in every step. This low-profile midsole feature combines pressurised air with internal fibres to deliver responsive cushioning that springs back fast so you can move faster. Using a heel unit and targeted forefoot cushioning, they have provided a more responsive and energetic ride than ever before, letting your young one run further, faster, before fatigue sets in. The shoes offer greater toe spring than the previous model due to the increased curve in the toe box. This, combined with the extra toe room compared to the previous version, enhances stability for a sure-footed feeling as they move.

Rubber Outsole

Using an all-new waffle-inspired rubber outsole, the Pegasus 42 ensures enhanced traction in dry and wet conditions. The durable rubber provides a strong grip, protecting itself from damage and users from losing control and slipping. The rubber is placed in high-wear areas, with the full forefoot and sections of the heel, to increase durability and resist heel-strike trauma. The rubber has been removed from the midfoot to reduce weight and improve feel. The new flex groove design allows the foot to move more naturally through the gait cycle, while increasing surface area for better grip and traction on the surface below.
