Odlo Zeroweight Windproof Warm Jacket

Keep the wind at bay with the Odlo Zeroweight Windproof Warm Jacket. The firm construction will keep you sheltered from the elements to keep your body in a comfortable climate.

Designed to offer you personalised protection from the elements, the Zeroweight Windproof Warm Jacket has a body-mapping construction that will react with the body. The material will block all wind from entering, deflecting it away from the jacket and preventing it from making you feel cold. The jacket falls under Warm on Odlo's unique Temperature Control System. This highly functional material will provide exceptional thermal insulation which will keep you at a comfortable temperature when conditions are cold. The material will still allow a transfer of air in and out of the jacket. This will mean that warm and muggy air will be recycled with cooler air, which will work to keep you constantly feeling comfortable. The material can also wick moisture away, so when you begin to sweat, the moisture particles are able to escape out of the jacket, leaving the skin dry and warm. To further improve the breathability of the jacket, there are ventilation panels, which will encourage warmer air out of the jacket. Despite the panels letting the air out, they have windproof zones surrounding them, which will stop the heavy wind from outside from penetrating the layer of material. The material also allows stretch, which will open up a wider range of movements possible in the jacket without causing it any permanent damage. A full-zip up the front is extremely easy to adjust while on the move, and will completely seal out the wind. Surrounding the neck, there is an articulated collar which will feel personalised as well as retaining heat. The cuffs will also mould to your wrist shape, sealing and blocking any wind from entering. Small essential items can be carried around with you securely in zippered pockets. Reflective elements on the jacket will improve your visibility in low-light environments. Easily packable, the bag can be carried around with you easily in a bag.

About Odlo

Odlo was founded in Oslo in 1946. Its founder Odd Roar Lofterød Senior was the driving force behind the company until 1979. His favourite saying was "always make sure you're one step ahead": Lofterød had a reputation for being a creative, unconventional thinker who took off in new, previously unimagined, directions. Born in Norway in 1915, he grew up during the difficult times of war and unemployment that characterised the early 20th century. But this did not stop his unquenchable thirst for new ideas. Instead of just waiting for a job to come along, he placed an ad saying: "Worker available for 100 crowns". He soon landed a job paying 60 crowns a month working in a factory that made machinery for the clothing industry. Using the technical expertise that he gained in the area of knitting machines, he went on to set up his own company, Odlo Fabrikker A/S. To get the company up and running, Lofterød bought his first knitting and sewing machines from his former employer. He also had the foresight to trademark his brand name worldwide.

Odd Roar Junior took over the running of the company in 1979 and moved its headquarters from Norway to Switzerland in 1986. In 1987 he and his partners launched the groundbreaking Athletic Clothing System, based on the three-layer principle. The first layer, the underwear, is designed to ensure optimum moisture management. The second layer helps to regulate the wearer's temperature, while the third layer provides protection from wind and rain.

The launch of the Evolution Blackcomb underwear range for the Winter 2015 season saw the Greentec concept being revisited and integrated into the new Blackcomb range. In January 2015, this stylish, high-performance, sustainable underwear range was awarded the prestigious ISPO Gold Award in Munich. 70 years on, Odlo is still demonstrating how innovation is one of its greatest strengths.
