Engineered Mesh Upper
Providing you with a flexible construction and reducing the weight of the shoes, the Cloudhorizon utilises a soft, flexible engineered mesh upper. This comfortable cosy material keeps feet feeling fresh and comfortable for whatever you choose to tackle next, and utilising a flexible structure allows your feet to bend and flex more naturally. Strategic perforations provide feet with a constant supply of airflow, preventing overheating, whilst the moisture-wicking properties of the upper prevent a build-up of sweat, keeping feet dry when things start to heat up. The upper utilises overlays to add durability to the construction and keep feet more protected. The Cloudhorizon is built with a hiking-specific last, with a wider toe box for comfort on long adventures. Finally, a traditional lace-up system works to lock down the midfoot, providing you with a stable, secure ride, and preventing in-shoe slipping from occurring. The walking shoes are made for streets and mountains alike and with a versatile design, you can tackle all types of terrain in style and comfort.
Advanced Midsole and Outsole
Utilising On's unique CloudTec Phase technology, the Cloudhorizon has a midsole specifically optimised for hiking. The compound has shock-absorbing properties to help prevent injuries or discomfort from occurring when striking down onto hard, changing surfaces, and adapting well to your walking style. Working alongside this is On's Helion superfoam ensuring outstanding energy return and excellent underfoot cushioning, to keep feet feeling soft and fresh and provide you with a soft landing on trails. CloudTec's unique construction works by collapsing the cushioning when stepping down, expanding the foam in a forward rolling motion and propelling heel strikers forward. The Cloudhorizon also utilises a rocker-shaped geometry to enhance forward propulsion.
Working to provide superior grip and traction on constantly changing terrain, the outsole features On's Missiongrip rubber. This durable compound provides you with the traction you need on those long adventures and ensures outstanding durability on both wet and dry surfaces, allowing you to enjoy every adventure. The outsole also has a newly updated lug pattern to provide you with outstanding support and stability, keeping you sure-footed when traversing uneven ground. Finally, a closed outsole is an update from previous On Running shoes, to stop stones from entering underfoot further keeping things as lightweight as possible.
