With its ultralight construction, protective features and peerless packability, the Rab Phantom Jacket is the ultimate stash-and-forget waterproof shell for stripped-back mountain runners.
This extremely lightweight waterproof jacket makes for an essential piece of kit to add to your running wardrobe. If you're a mountain runner who worries about space, consider this vibrant Phantom Jacket from Rab. The Phantom uses 7D Pertex Shield 2.5L fabric with DWR and added stretch, which ensures you stay dry from the rain and protected from the wind. Pertex Shield gives it a lightweight feel, resulting in a tiny pack size. So, when storing this jacket, you needn't worry about where it will go. The design of this jacket is made to provide comfort and keep you snug at the same time, which is why the volume hood with a micro-elasticated front section has been removed from any unnecessary excess materials. So the hood stays close to your head, however, it still has that space you might need for a woolly hat or beanie during the colder climates. The hood also features rear venting to help reduce billowing on a windswept ridgeline. The jacket packs into its hood when rain clouds clear, creating a palm-sized pack size that effortlessly stashes away into your backpack or running vest, ready for a sudden shower. The YKK full zip extends down to the sternum to provide good ventilation. Keeping the material to a minimum, Rab has used partly elasticised hems and cuffs to keep the jacket in place, but this means they could leave out any excess toggles or draw cords, ensuring a more comfortable and safe run. Providing visibility to the jacket, Rab has included reflective elements that ensure safety during poorer weather conditions and low light. All these elements provide a comfortable yet tight fit to allow fast movement through mountains.
