This is the ultra-packable shell that weight-conscious adventurers keep stashed in their pack year-round, ready for the weather to turn.
Whether you're moving fast over challenging terrain or tackling treks where pack space is at a premium, you need a packable shell that will keep you dry in ever-changing conditions. Utilising ultralight, 2.5-layer Pertex Shield Diamond Fuse fabric, the Phantom Mountain Jacket from Rab has a barely-there feel, while offering the waterproof protection you need when taking on unpredictable mountain weather. The Diamond Fuse technology uses yarns with diamond-shaped filaments to create a tough, abrasion-resistant fabric, enhancing durability when wearing your pack over long distances. The jacket features a versatile full zip, allowing you to throw it on and pull it off as the weather changes. A lightweight hood with minimalist adjustability keeps weight down while the stiffened peak provides extra protection, shielding your eyes from the rain for clear vision on the trail. Hood doubles up as an integrated storage solution. When the jacket is no longer in use, roll it into the hood and put it in your backpack. For freedom of movement, the jacket uses articulated sleeves, allowing you to move without restriction. For storage, the jacket has two hand pockets, large enough to store your essentials while providing a place to put your hands on colder days. Secure elasticated cuffs provide enough stretch to allow for ventilation in your forearms and access to your sports watch, while a lightweight single-sided rear hem adjustment with anti-snag tether completes the jacket.
