The upper of the Salomon XA Pro 3D GTX is engineered with a durably waterproof GORE-TEX membrane providing greater flex, better cushion and less weight. The GORE-TEX membrane is an extremely thin layer of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). It has over 9 billion pores per square inch and it's these pores that give the GORE-TEX fabric its characteristics. Wet fabrics rob your body of warmth. The GORE-TEX fabrics are durably waterproof, allowing you to stay dry and enjoy your activity in comfort.
Fitted with the Sensifit system, it works to cradle the foot and provides a precise and secure fit. For easy-on and easy-off, the shoe is equipped with the Quicklace system which ensures a minimalistic and strong lace for one-pull tightening. The Lace Pocket then provides an easy storage point for the Quick Fit Lacing System. The shoes also feature Friction Free Lace Eyelets for quick and easy one pull lacing and asymmetrical lacing for a customised fit and quick adjustment. Lastly, with a Protective Rubber Toe Cap, it ensures maximum protection against loose, sharp rocks and debris in the mountain and in trail environments
The midsole uses the compressed EVA that is extended in the entire midsole to deliver enough amount of underfoot cushioning. Found in the forefoot is the injected EVA which also gives underfoot cushioning while running. For enhanced cushioning, the midsole is developed with an Ortholite sockliner which creates a cooler, drier, healthier, better-cushioned environment under the foot.
Fitted with Salomon's low profile advanced chassis, which is placed between the outsole and midsole to maximise security, motion control, energy management and push through protection for a high performance, stable and responsive ride.
The Premium Wet Traction Contagrip outsole has a distinctive profile that ensures lightweight performance on soft, wet terrain. On rocky, wet ground the outsole offers you optimal grip.
