GORE-TEX Upper

The Salomon XA PRO 3D will ensure that you will stay dry no matter what the weather and your surroundings are like. A GORE-TEX membrane is used within the upper of the shoe, and this layer will provide durable waterproofing. Despite blocking all moisture from entering, this doesn't mean that moisture from within cannot escape. Air and vapour from sweat are able to escape out of the shoe, whilst cool air can replace it, which will ensure that you will stay cool within the shoe. The material itself on the upper is also extremely lightweight, which will contribute to the overall weight of the shoe by keeping it down. This means that you will always feel light-footed on the trails, with nothing holding you back. Thicker material covers the forefoot, which will protect the toes from any bumps and knocks you might receive. As well as this, the heel walls are firm, which will hold you it in a strong and upright position. This will prevent any injuries from occurring as the heel will be stabilised. Using Salomon's developed Sensifit, the midsole is cradled to the laces, which will snug and almost customised fit around the foot. Using quick lacing, the laces are easy to fasten and tighten to a comfortable fit. The eyelets provide little friction when fastening, which will make fastening quicker. A soft padded tongue completes the comfortable upper.

EnergyCell Midsole

Within the midsole, the shoe has injected and compressed EVA which forms the EnergyCell Midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. In addition to this, between the outsole and the midsole, there is a low profile advanced chassis. This will maximise security, motion control and assist energy management, resulting in a high-performing stable and responsive ride. Within the shoe, there is an OrthoLite sockliner. This will provide the foot with a cushioned and cooler environment, whilst also reducing the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing.

Contagrip Outsole

Tackle any trails in supreme confidence that you won't be let down by your shoe's grip. Using Contagrip, the outsole is able to form a solid grip between shoe and terrain. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion resistant, which means long-term control is guaranteed. When you are running on the wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep lugs dig into the ground, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
