Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid GORE-TEX Walking Boots

Equipped with a new chassis, the boot is even better at protecting sensitive articulations without compromising freedom of movement.
GORE-TEX Upper
Constructed from a PU coated leather, the Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid GORE-TEX Walking Boots keep water at bay so you can walk with confidence no matter the weather. The durable PU leather offers a wide range of protection to help you gain the maximum from your footwear. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the boot; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. A mesh and textile lining encase each foot in breathable comfort. Perforations in the fabric increase airflow to create a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. A Sensifit system cradles the foot providing a precise and secure fit whilst the gusseted tongue sits comfortably against the skin and prevents debris from entering inside the boot. Protection is key while out on the trails, so don't worry when wearing the X Ultra 4 Mid as it features a protective heel cap for rearfoot stability and a protective rubber toe cap to enhance protection from loose or sharp rocks. Finishing off the upper is the mudguard which is a protective material all around the base of the boot to help reduce the build-up of mud.
EnergyCell Midsole
Within the midsole, the boot has injected and compressed EVA which forms the EnergyCell Midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. The energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. In addition to this, between the outsole and the midsole, there is a new ADV-C chassis. This targets articulations on the outer foot to optimize stability without limiting your mobility, while the higher cut provides extra ankle support, while also keeping the front of the boot flexible for a more fluid ride. A moulded OrthoLite sockliner is extremely soft and comfortable and works to wick away moisture keeping the feet cool and dry at all times.
Contagrip MA Outsole
The Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid GORE-TEX features a Contagrip MA outsole, providing unique traction technology and an all-terrain grip. Contagrip MA is built for the widest variety of surfaces. It balances both the geometry and the rubber compound to deliver confidence on wet, dry, hard or loose surfaces, and offer long-term durability. The outsole grabs the terrain, even when it's wet or slippery, giving you more control, especially on descents. When you are running on the wet and muddy ground, the deep chevron lugs dig into the ground, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
