Single Mesh Upper

Designed to provide a smooth, glove-like fit and feel, the upper of the Salomon S/LAB Phantasm2 Running Shoes has been constructed using a single mesh upper. The single-layer mesh ensures enhanced breathability whilst remaining as lightweight as possible. Perforations within the fabric create a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in; the mesh allows cool air to flow into the shoes whilst, at the same time allowing hot humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. As well as this, the plush, close fit collar is soft, comfortable and minimalist without sacrificing the secure feel. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

Energy Foam Plus Midsole

The midsole has been constructed using Salomon's newest Energy Midsole, Energy Foam Plus. Just like the first edition, the midsole provides lightweight and responsive cushioning, however, the foam is softer and provides a more responsive ride. The midsole still provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection as you put in the miles. Two layers of foam create the midsole, a slightly firmer top layer and a softer bottom layer. By using the two foams the energy produced when your foot hits the ground will be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. Sandwiched between these two foams is a Carbon plate that helps propel you forward, helping you crush those PBs.

Contagrip Outsole

Just like the previous version the shoes use a Contagrip outsole, the outsole is able to form a solid grip between the shoe and the terrain. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, which means long-term control is guaranteed. When you are on wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep lugs dig in, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
