Upper

Designed to promote airflow, the air mesh upper proceeds to do this allowing for cool air to permeate the inner of the shoe giving a cooler, more comfortable running environment. The New and updated flex film overlays create a seamless construction, leaving a lightweight, synthetic locked-in fit - diminishing weight simultaneously. RunDry and HyrdraMAX unite to wick sweat away from the feet with a secondary feature providing next-to-skin comfort.

Midsole

The plastic shank is gone from the midfoot, replaced by an additional pod of cushioned rubber to the lateral (on the outside edge of the foot) and a carbon rubber pod to the medial (on the inside edge). The new construction provides a more supportive feel and reduces the overall weight. Powerfoam material integrated with GRID technology works in unison to create a system that effectively centres the foot, absorbs impact and distributes pressure. The two unite to form PowerGrid, resulting in an exceptionally smooth and responsive ride on every run.

Outsole

A fully decoupled SRC crash pad has been added to provide smoother transitions and better support. Injection Blown Rubber (iBR+) combines Sauconys' proprietary compound with a manufacturing process that results in less waste and better resilience; concurring with a liquid mould, producing higher consistency and durability for supreme cushioning underfoot. With a support frame continuing to deliver structured integrity in the rearfoot, a stellar fit ensues.

Overall the Ride 8 outsole provides roughly 20% more ground contact than its predecessor, which will make the shoe more durable, cushioned and supportive for the runner. Ride enthusiasts will enjoy the 8th edition’s versatility, comfort and durability when running those long distances.
