GORE-TEX Upper
A GORE-TEX lining encases the upper to provide fully waterproof properties, ensuring your feet remain dry and protected, whatever the conditions. The upper of the Neutron has also been constructed using a synthetic mesh material to provide optimal comfort and breathability. The mesh actively and efficiently wicks away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture, leaving your feet cool and composed as you strive for the best results and performance. Additionally, cool air is encouraged to circulate, creating a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Synthetic overlays are situated on the upper for extra protection and resistance to abrasion, debris or sharp objects you may encounter while trail running. The padded tongue and heel sit comfortably against the skin, reducing friction and irritation such as chafing while the traditional lacing system offers a secure, locked-in feel. Further comfort and protection is afforded by the Heel Tension System which is an innovative system applied to the heel area of the upper part of the shoe. It offers great stability and adaptability to the severe stress derived from steep routes. The sock fit is a construction system that offers a fit as snug as a sock, the feeling of being at one with your footwear. Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
EVA Midsole
A compressed EVA platform resides underfoot for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long distance days. EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The midsole ensures you're ready for the unpredictable trails and tough terrain. Completing the midsole is an ortholite performance insole which provides added underfoot comfort and increased breathability so you can go further for longer in complete comfort.
Vibram Megagrip Outsole
Developed using a Vibram Megagrip outsole, the Neutron GORE-TEX provides extreme grip and traction for all surface wear. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the extremely durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. Ensuring multi-directional grip the outsole ensures traction on varied terrain ensuring confident footing on varied terrain. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Completing the outsole are lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs are able to anchor the foot into the wet and muddy ground, securing you into place whilst also forming a solid base to push off from.
