Breathable Mesh Upper

In the upper of the Ultra Flex 2 there is a GORE-TEX membrane which acts as a barrier between moisture and the inside of the boot. When the boot is exposed to rainfall or damp ground, the membrane leaps into action, working to seal out the moisture and preventing it from reaching the feet. This will remove the risk of having damp and cold socks all day, meaning that you will stay extremely comfortable. Even though the membrane seals out moisture, it will still allow air to penetrate through the membrane. As your feet begin to warm up, the air inside is able to escape out where it is then replaced by cooler air from outside. This will work over a long period of time to guarantee ventilation. The upper is extremely tough and durable in its construction. Strong overlays will reinforce the sides of the boot. Covering the toes, the material thickens, which will provide complete protection from bumps or knocks to the forefoot. Similarly, the rearfoot has an extremely Anti-rock heel cup surrounding it, holding the heel in a healthy upright position. SALEWA 3F System connects the instep area with the sole and heel, ensuring ankle support, flexibility and a precise fit. For an extremely secured and personalised close fit, the shoes use climbing laces to guarantee a locked-in feeling all the way up the feet. This will mean that you will always feel controlled on challenging terrain. The soft padded tongue and collar will remove the risk of irritation by rubbing and chafing whilst the flex collar encourages the ankle's rear range of motion ideal for better performance during descents. Finally, the high rise of the boot will also act as a dirt and debris shield.

EVA Midsole

A full-length platform of EVA resides underfoot for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. The energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The midsole ensures you're ready for unpredictable trails and tough terrain. As well as this, an Ortholite insole completes the midsole by providing added underfoot comfort. The Ortholite footbed wicks moisture away efficiently and effectively, as well as providing a comfortable and soft surface for the sole of the foot.

MICHELIN Technical Performance Outsole

Ensure unrivalled grip and durability, the performance outsole is made from Michelin rubber that is engineered to provide the traction and durability needed for speed hiking on uneven terrain. The durable nature of the rubber means that the outsole is tough and doesn't easily wear, ensuring it can stand the test of time on any trail or mountain terrain. Multi-directional lugs and grooves allow the outsole to anchor to surfaces for support and stability, allowing more confident footing whilst on the move. Finally, the MICHELIN Technical Performance Outsole helps to absorb shock when the foot comes into contact with the ground which helps to protect joints.
