Door-to-summit - the Wildfire NXT Mid GORE-TEX is a high-performance approach boot with a seamless, Kevlar-reinforced Matryx upper. It combines hiking comfort and durability with climbing precision, plus an oversized heel for high cushioning performance.
Matryx Upper
The Salewa Wildfire NXT utilises a Matryx upper that combines multi-filament threads of Kevlar and high-tenacity nylon to create a lightweight single-layer material, with enhanced breathability and abrasion resistance. The upper is highly breathable and allows cool air to flow, whilst at the same time, it removes unwanted warm air to help control temperature. The materials are tear-resistant, which helps prevent abrasion or damage caused by knocks and bumps on the trails. The construction will also allow moisture from sweat to escape easily, keeping you dry and comfortable. The boots have a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit Lining, which ensures feet remain protected from rainy conditions, preventing water and moisture from getting into the boots, ensuring feet remain dry and comfortable. The upper includes a protective TPU rand around the toes and through the midfoot, adding protection and stability to the boots. The upper is completed with a traditional lacing system that locks down the midfoot and reduces in-shoe movement for distraction-free movements.
EVA Midsole
A full-length EVA platform is included for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. EVA is extremely firm, absorbing shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, giving spring to your step. The midsole ensures you're ready for unpredictable trails and tough terrain. A Custom Fit Footbed Pro has been added, providing the perfect balance of ground feel and comfort. Using a four mm recycled EVA foam layer, enhancing your walking experience, providing a responsive yet cushioned feel. Salewa has enhanced the heel area, increasing cushioning to maximise comfort, ensuring a smoother heel strike, reducing impact and fatigue. Salewa has also integrated its 3F System into the shoes, offering increased support, flexibility and security. The System connects the instep, sole and heel to create a stable yet flexible structure. This structure ensures the heel stays in place, reducing the risk of blisters and discomfort while giving lateral support to prevent ankle rolling on uneven terrain, making the shoes both protective and agile.
Vibram All-Terrain Megagrip Outsole
The Wildfire NXT features a Vibram All-Terrain Megagrip outsole, engineered to deliver exceptional grip and traction across various surfaces. Specifically designed for extremely slippery conditions, the durable rubber creates a strong connection with the ground, keeping you firmly planted. This robust rubber is also built to withstand the demands of rough terrain, resisting damage and maintaining its shape and structure. Its superior grip on even the most challenging terrains helps prevent loss of control and slipping. Furthermore, the outsole utilises multi-directional lugs that penetrate deeply into the ground during braking or changes in direction. These deep lugs provide reliable stability on wet and muddy ground, ensuring secure footing and a solid platform for pushing off.
