Found within the baselayer, the fabric is a 50/50 blend of natural Merino wool and synthetic polyester fibres. By using Merino, the wool has much finer fibres to ordinary wool, which makes the overall feel of it extremely soft to touch. In addition to this, it will provide excellent warmth whilst remaining lightweight. If you get caught out on a rain shower, the wool is still able to provide you with a good level of heat retention. This means that the top is perfect for next to skin comfort and temperature regulation, which will, in turn, keep the skin healthy. When exposed to moisture, the fleece wicks it away efficiently and is quick drying, making sure that your top remains lightweight and comfortable. Despite having supreme heat retention, the baselayer also allows an airflow to pass through the fabric, keeping the body feeling fresh and ventilated. The material is treated to be anti-microbial and odour resistant, which will keep you smelling fresh, as well as removing and preventing bacteria growth from occurring. Inside the baselayer, the seams are flat-lying, resulting in a smooth and comfortable feel, whilst removing the risk of rubbing and chafing from causing irritation. As you become more active and your body temperature raises, the half-zip on the top can be used to allow a steady airflow into the baselayer to provide further ventilation. Alternatively, if you begin to feel yourself getting a bit colder, the windproof zip will lock out breezes, helping the baselayer retain heat.
