The material is wind resistant, stopping the cold from entering and causing your body to cool down unnaturally. A full zip down the front of the jacket will also seal cold breezes out and can be quickly adjusted to allow more air in if you feel like you are overheating. The material is also treated to be water-repellent. When exposed to rain and other moisture, the material will quickly wick it away and removing it from the jacket, keeping it feeling lightweight and warm. The extremely lightweight construction of the jacket will mean that despite all of the weather protecting benefits, the layer of clothing won't be too heavy or weigh you down, so you will still be able to push yourself hard when running, cycling or hiking. As you begin to sweat and your body becomes warmer, the material will still allow a controlled flow of air in and out of the jacket, which will keep you feeling cool and ventilated.
