Montane Glacium Hooded Men's Down Jacket

This down jacket brings pinnacle technology to every mountain setting and is built to provide durable protection in cold, harsh environments.

With PERTEX Quantum Pro technology, the Gacium Down jacket from Montane is windproof, durable and highly water-resistant for complete protection in harsh changing conditions. The yarn follows a tightly woven construction, trapping warm air within the jacket and improving the efficiency of the down with 30D ripstop nylon focused on the body and 50D ripstop nylon on the shoulders and arms for durability and protection in high-wear areas. The fabric features an ultra-thin water-resistant coating on the inside and a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish on the outer side to provide reliable weather protection. The ExpeDRY duck down contains non-toxic gold particles bonded to it for fast drying performance and industry-leading warmth. These gold particles vibrate any water that seeps in to speed up evaporation, ensuring the down dries quickly and stays dry in high humidity and extreme conditions. For silky smooth wear, the Glacium jacket has been lined with PEAQ fabric for improved moisture management, allowing perspiration and excess body heat to escape. A wide baffle construction has been used to minimise vertical seams. Additionally, enhanced pattern cutting has been implemented to boost warmth, working in conjunction with offset seam intersections to further improve warmth and durability while preventing cold spots. The centre-front zip is two-way, allowing easy access to a harness beneath and also offers a quick and easy way to cool down without unzipping fully. A mountain fit has been used to accommodate additional layers for added functionality.

A PIVOT 2, helmet-compatible hood keeps your head and ears protected, with a fully adjustable hood system that features front aperture and crown adjustments for a lightweight and easy-to-use experience. A helmet comfortably fits within the hood of the jacket if needed or is tightened to streamline the fit. The adjustable hem assists in entrapping heat within the jacket, while the self-sealing glove-compatible cuffs lock in warmth and allow for easier layering. Zipped hand-warming pockets feature on either side of the jacket as well as two zipped chest pockets; all of these are harness and pack compatible, so they are accessible when fully equipped. Finally, a stuff sack is provided to stash the jacket in for compact carrying when no longer in use.
