Named for the woman-specific double X chromosome DNA sequence, the Run XX Nitro stands behind PUMA's RUN FOR HER motto with a progressive, female-specific design. The shoes have an updated fit that hugs a woman's foot at the heel, instep and arch, the new firmer NITRO midsole is the perfect balance of durable and lightweight.
To keep things breathable and cool during intense running, the shoes have a mesh upper. The materials allow air to flow freely throughout the uppers to prevent feet from overheating, and moisture-wicking properties reduce the build-up of sweat, to keep things fresh and dry. The mesh is super comfortable, soft and stretchy to allow feet to flex naturally and ensure restriction-free running. A nearly seamless construction helps to prevent irritation or chafing when moving in the shoes. The shoes feature synthetic overlays and a PUMA Formstrip at the medial side to enhance the structure and support of the shoes, especially in high-wearing areas of the Puma Run XX Nitros. Reflective details also work to enhance visibility in low-light conditions. Finally, the shoes feature a soft tongue and collar to provide you with a locked-in, secure fit, and work alongside the laces to prevent in-shoe slipping from occurring.
To enhance underfoot comfort and add cushioning, the shoes feature a Nitro foam midsole. This is a lightweight, soft and bouncy midsole that provides you with energetic, responsive strides for optimum comfort when running. This midsole helps to keep things comfortable and soft, whilst also ensuring excellent propulsion for the best possible running experience. Additionally, shock-absorbing properties help to soften the blow from striking down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces, therefore reducing the risks of injury and discomfort when you're concentrating on the miles. The Run XX Nitro is part of the RUN FOR HER motto, with a women's specific last to provide the perfect fit, hugging a woman's foot at the heel, instep and arch. Finally, the shoes utilise a women's specific RUNGUIDE, a firm density rim, encouraging proper alignment and keeping the foot centred through each stride.
Optimising traction and grip underfoot, and ensuring a durable landing base, the Run XX Nitro utilise a PUMAGRIP outsole. The strategically placed rubber forms a rock-solid connection with a wide range of surfaces, giving you the confidence to run in a range of weather. This strong connection with the ground also delivers a firm base to push off from, enabling a more efficient running stride.
