adidas Terrex Two Parley Shoes
These shoes are designed to move fast and keep you comfortable on long trail runs. Featuring yarn that's sourced from recycled plastic, the mesh upper hugs your feet with a lightweight, supportive build. A lugged outsole delivers confident grip while an enhanced midsole cushions every step to help you run longer.
Good for the oceans
This product is created with yarn made in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans. Some of the yarn features Parley Ocean Plastic which is made from recycled waste, intercepted from beaches and coastal communities before it reaches the ocean. Parley is the space and network where creators, thinkers, and leaders come together to raise awareness for the beauty and fragility of the oceans and collaborate on projects that can end their destruction. By teaming up with Parley, adidas single-handedly prevent 11 bottles from entering our oceans, with each pair of ultra-boost created. By intercepting plastic waste on the beaches and creating long-lasting products, adidas have been able to save the oceans from further plastic pollution. Teaming up with Parley for the Oceans is just one way in which adidas plan to avoid plastic use, intercept plastic waste and help redesign the plastic economy.
Primeknit Upper
adidas have incorporated their signature Primeknit fabric into the construction of the upper to deliver exceptional comfort whilst maintaining optimum breathability. The Primeknit material actively and efficiently wicks away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture, leaving your feet feeling cool, dry and comfortable as you strive for the best performance on the court. Additionally, cool air is encouraged to circulate, creating a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Protective embroidered areas add durability and a lace closure system provides an optimal fit. Lastly, sock-like construction hugs the foot providing extra support as well as a locked in feel.
EVA Midsole
EVA resides in the midsole to supply resilient underfoot cushioning and comfort. Lightweight and generous, it helps to spare your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving terrain. The thicker midsole does a better job at separating your foot from jagged trails, increasing comfort, and provides long-term cushioning.
Continental Rubber Outsole
A Continental Rubber outsole completes the Terrex Two, supplying biting and resilient grip. Inspired by tyre technology, Continental Rubber offers traction on wet and dry surfaces, giving you absolutely no excuse not to run. Thick lugs adorn the outsole to provide aggressive, multi-directional grip across every ground; so you don't have to look down as you tackle awkward ascents and daring descents. Cut-outs reduce weight while enhancing flexibility.
Shoe Review
The award for the best-looking trail running shoe of 2020 goes to Adidas, for this unique and striking design. And the plaudits don't just end there. This is one of the best performing trail shoes of the year and comes highly recommended. Comfort and cushioning once again take centre stage, but the all-round qualities of this particular model make it very hard to beat. The sock-like design wraps around your feet to provide a secure and snug fit, with a cushioned pillow that sits behind the heel which adds further comfort during exercise. Full marks to Adidas for creating a flexible upper which is made from up-cycled plastic waste. Not only do the knitted uppers look good, but they feel great and help to increase flexibility, and breathability. They offer adequate support but like most other shoes in this review, I would prefer even more lateral support, especially for extreme and rugged terrain.
A Continental rubber outsole provides the grip and having tested this on various off-road surfaces in both wet and dry conditions I was impressed with the level of performance. The deep Boost midsole ensures that your feet are well cushioned, delivering plenty of energy return, particularly on longer trail runs. In terms of sizing, I would say they are just about true to fit, but if anything, they are slightly large in length. This shoe allows for a wide fit and also has a wide toe-box. Overall, I can confidently say that Adidas have succeeded in creating a well-built, durable shoe that not only looks fantastic but is fully fit for purpose.
