ASICS Novablast 5 Men's Running Shoes

The Novablast line gets a major update with a fast and fun model suitable for every type of runner. The fifth generation of these iconic shoes delivers a super-soft, comfortable ride thanks to ASICS's most energetic midsole foam, FF Blast Max cushioning.

Engineered Jacquard Mesh Upper

The upper has been constructed using a new technical mesh to deliver ultimate comfort and breathability. The mesh allows built-up heat and vapour to escape, while fresh air is encouraged to flow in for a pleasant cooling sensation. The lightweight materials are super flexible, ensuring unrestricted movement and a comfortable, secure fit. The gusseted tongue wing construction helps improve the fit and reduce tongue movement. Built-in stretch enhances the fit and provides an irritation-free experience. Working alongside this, the uppers have a seamless construction to prevent irritation or chafing. Reflective details ensure visibility in low-light running conditions, and heel pull tabs make on/off easy. A traditional lacing system completes the uppers and helps to lock down and anchor the shoe for confident strides. At least 75% of the shoe's upper is recycled.

FF Blast Max Midsole

For cloud-like, bouncy wearing and super comfortable strides from start to finish of your run, the Novablast 5s utilise ASICS's most responsive FF Blast Max foam cushioning. Updated from their predecessors, the FF Blast Max increases bounce properties by approximately 8.5%, meaning even more comfort, softness and outstanding responsiveness. The foam provides excellent cushioning and energy return to help spare your joints, providing the flying feeling you need from your running shoes. The energy spared will allow you to go further and faster, using less effort, alongside a generous stack height to provide you with the full effect. The geometry of the midsole also adds to the energy return. Underfoot, a sockliner adds plushness and has been produced with a solution dyeing process using 33% less water, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 45% compared to conventional dyeing technology.

AHAR LO Outsole

The outsole of the Novablast 5 is crafted from AHAR LO rubber. ASICS's low-density, high-abrasion rubber is a tough compound used in heavy contact and high-wear areas, preventing excessive wear. The high-abrasion outsole provides a strong grip and protects itself from damage and users from slipping. Creating a strong bond with the ground beneath the outsole keeps you in full control. The trampoline-inspired outsole offers a more responsive bounce-back by covering key areas of the rubber while leaving sections of the foam exposed. This design reduces weight and maximises propulsion.

This shoe is designed with energy return in mind, and ASICS have spent endless hours testing it at our Institute of Sport Science (ISS) in Japan.
