Huub Varman 3:5 Wetsuit
Created to ensure a whole new swimming and buoyancy experience, the Varman 3:5 Wetsuit by Huub sets the bar high.
Constructed using Huub's exclusive +43 Buoyancy foam, the Varman 3:5 Wetsuit delivers 43% more buoyancy than standard neoprene. Each Huub wetsuit has been rigorously developed for a particular stroke style by expert swimming coaches Swim Smooth and heavily tested by real swimmers at their test centre in Perth, Western Australia. Through vigorous testing, HUUB has seen that dimples and contours deliver no benefit to performance and have finally created a material that is lighter and more buoyant. The result? A groundbreaking 43% more (than standard neoprene) buoyant foam. Differing newton values of buoyant materials deliver graduated buoyancy profiles around the thighs, hips and lower quads to ensure the correct balance with the bodies centre of buoyancy. This provides a flattering, more streamlined and faster suit profile in the water, resulting in more buoyancy and a hydrodynamic profile. The Varman 3:5 Wetsuit has also been rigorously tested to ensure its buoyancy lives up to your high expectations; M.A.D systems are the ultimate measurement when it comes to swimwear testing and, it allows Huub to bring you a wetsuit that truly performs, time after time.
An exclusive 3:5 buoyancy profile ensures your feet always remain slightly higher than the rest of your body so you can achieve a more dynamic swim. With a 3:5 buoyancy, you'll never get that sinking legs feeling as there is 5mm of buoyancy supporting your legs to keep you afloat. A 3mm buoyancy profile has also been used in the upper body to keep your body above water as you reach your next PB. A stretch neoprene helps to deliver a full, unrestricted range of motion in all directions to give you the edge against your competitors or against the clock. Additionally, a rotational freedom upper design ensures maximum mobility so you can cut through the water and increase your speed and efficiency. A buoyancy and body alignment constrictor system works to ensure proper body alignment in the water by preventing twists and turns that may be detrimental to your swimming performance. Lastly, an exclusive Huub technology known as arms neutral keeps your arms at the same height as you move through the water ensuring more efficiency as you move through the water.
If you have sharp nails, wearing gloves is recommended to prevent them from snagging on the material and potentially causing damage to it. Specially designed to keep you comfortable, protected and enhanced in open water, the construction and feel of the wetsuit will mean that no outdoor water is a barrier. HUUB recommends that if you are on the border of two different sizes, going a size up rather than down would result in a better fit. It is vitally important to get a close fitting wetsuit. Once you have an optimally fitted wetsuit on it feels like a second skin which is what makes it so effective when you are in the water. But with a garment that fits so tightly, the challenge is in how to get it on without damaging the suit or chafing or trapping your skin. Adjusting the suit to fit your body comfortably so that it doesn't cause discomfort whilst you are swimming also needs a little practice.
