Inov8 Shoe Fit Scale

For technical footwear, a good fit is essential to enhance your performance. Inov8's new Shoe Fit Scale makes it easier to find the perfect fitting shoe. All Inov8 shoes are designed with Met-Cradle technology to lock down the mid-foot for a stable hold, where they differ is in the toe box. The shoes are now graded from 1 to 5, Grade 1 representing their closest, most precise fit and Grade 5 representing the widest fitting toe box.

The lower the number on the scale, the narrower the fit, which ensures minimal internal movement of the foot when running fast on technical terrain. Shoes with the higher numbers on the scale will suit athletes with a wider foot and those wanting that extra comfort in the toe box. This wider toe box allows the toes to splay for increased stability when lifting heavy weights. It's also perfect for longer runs and races when toes begin to swell.

Inov8 have graded the Trailtalon 275 Trail Running Shoes as Grade 4.

Upper

Mesh uppers will encase each foot in durable comfort. Perforates in the fabric increase airflow; creating a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. Inov8 employ their ADAPTERFIT met-cradle to wrap the midfoot in firm support, reducing in-shoe slippage for smooth, distraction-free strides. Created with both motion and anatomy in mind, the next generation technology adapts to the natural movement and swelling of the foot as it powers through the gait cycle. An integrated gusseted tongue ensures kicked-up dirt and debris are kept out of your way, plus on-the-shoe gaiter hooks offer a secure attachment system for when you need the extra protection of Inov8's RACE ULTRA GAITER. Midsole

Two-piece POWERFLOW resides in the midsole to supply plush underfoot cushion and comfort, letting you run effortlessly over any terrain. POWERFLOW delivers 10% better shock absorption and 15% better energy return than standard midsoles; so your joints are spared as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces and the use of superfluous muscle power is reduced; diminishing fatigue and keeping you driven for longer.

Outsole

Embedded between the midsole and the outsole, the Dynamic Fascia Band works to deliver a kick of energy with every stride, increasing your speed and efficiency. The patented technology replicates the anatomical position of the plantar fascia ligament and duplicates the function of the human foot's ability to utilise the 'windlass effect. The band extends forward along the outsole and divides, just as the human fascia divides, into five bands that terminate anterior to the metatarsal heads. As body weight moves forward and the toes begin to extend, tension on the band increases. When the heel leaves the ground, the Dynamic Fascia Band resists elongation of the medial arch and carries the entire body weight of the runner, converting the shoe into a rigid propulsive lever. A TriC Sole completes the TRAILTALON 275. This carefully considered combination of three rubber compounds means you get maximum durability and grip on all hard and rocky terrain, wet and dry. A truly unique sole design: it uses soft, sticky rubber on the toe and arch areas for improved grip, medium sticky rubber on the medial and lateral sides of the forefoot and heel to increase stability, plus hard rubber at the heel for an improved wear rate. Multi-directional, 4mm deep lugs exist to supply versatile traction. Each with a wide contact area, they provide aggressive grip, underfoot stability and quick release of any debris. The Meta-Flex, a deep groove in the forefoot, adorns the outsole to promote natural forefoot flexion; letting you run unhindered.
