GORE-TEX Surround Upper

The uppers are made from abrasion resistant, breathable, water repellent mesh and the lining uses the GORE-TEX Surround membrane to guarantee waterproof and breathability. The shoes combine durable waterproofness and optimised breathability, offering enduring waterproof protection and optimised climate comfort. Water stays on the outside whilst perspiration can easily escape from the inside of the shoes. Thanks to their innovative construction they are an ideal solution for the widest range of outdoor activities and changing weather conditions.

In addition, Nano-Cells work in synergy with the innovative GORE-TEX surround technology that enables unprecedented breathability, thanks to the breathable surface that includes all of the upper and the insole for 360-degree breathability. The Nano-Cells are part of a ventilation system that incorporates the lateral and medial aspects of the shoe to easily allow hot, muggy air out while providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air. A mesh tongue, collar and heel also aid further breathability while optimising comfort throughout those areas, thus making an easier and more enjoyable experience.

Nubuck Leather Overlays wrap the upper to provide structure and durability to the construction. The overlays wrap the toe box and link in with the lacing system to help provide a more snug and comfortable fit. This innovative construction helps lock the foot in and prevents any slipping within the shoes. In addition, the leather wraps the heel where an internal heel counter lays to also prevent slipping within the shoes, ensuring structural integrity and keeping your joints and surrounding soft tissue safe from uneven terrain. A rubber toe bumper adds extra durability protecting the toes from anything hidden while hiking through long grass or rocky terrains.

Compressed EVA Midsole

The midsole features a compression moulded EVA unit that provides excellent cushioning and responsiveness. The midsole works endlessly to reduce the shock and impact forces that are created during the heel strike phase of the gait cycle. As you heel strike up to 3x your own body weight can run through the muscular-skeletal system of the ankle therefor your body needs some help in reducing those effects. The midsole harnesses the energy created from the heel strike and transfers it to the forefoot area of the midsole where it uses that harnessed energy to push you off into your next step, providing you with an ultra-responsive shoe that helps you through every step of your journey.

The midsole also packs another technology called the STB control system. This construction wraps the midsole in the medial part with anti-torsion functions for a snug, stable and comfortable fit. As you walk over uneven terrain it's easy for your foot to twist and move in ways that are not natural to how the muscles and bones of our bodies work. With that in mind, by putting a stability and anti-torsion function in the core of the shoes you prevent the torsion effect yet the shoe still remains flexible enough to keep the natural flexibility.

Vibram Outsole

Vibram is a high contender of the world leaders in high-performance soling systems. They combine cutting edge designs with advanced rubber compounds to deliver optimum performance. The Vibram compound used in the Genesis is XS Trek that is trail-ready and offers a rapid response. This compound is specifically designed for fast hiking on difficult trails, offering the optimum balance of traction and durability as well as remains responsive on unpredictable terrain.

The outsole also features an impact brake system that works in harmony with the multi-directional lugs to reduce up to 20% of impact forces on the body and to increase traction by 20%. With the position of the lugs allowing many of them as possible to come into contact with the ground, it ensures maximum impact absorption over a wider surface area on traverse routes, uphill and downhill, both on soft terrain and hard ground.
