Air-Mesh and GORE-TEX Upper

The upper of the Alnasca IV has been crafted from an Air-Mesh material, which is ultra-lightweight and allows for a high level of breathability and comfort, perfect for those long days on the trail. The upper encourages cool air to circulate, keeping your feet cool even during intense activity while allowing vapour and heat to escape, keeping your feet feeling dry and fresh. The GORE-TEX Prism XT membrane provides optimum protection, keeping your feet dry from rain and moisture in poor, changing weather, including snowy conditions. The membrane is also highly breathable to prevent overheating, while moisture-wicking properties remove sweat and moisture; the combination of materials keeps feet dry inside and out. The shoes feature a rubber toe cap for protection and durability, while the raised rubber rand around the shoe enhances protection against rocks and trail debris. A traditional lacing system completes the upper, locking in the midfoot for reduced in-shoe movement while offering a personalised feel.

High Rebound Critial EVA Midsole

The Alnasca IV features an exceptionally soft and shock-absorbing midsole for a pleasant hiking experience, all thanks to the high-rebound critical midsole. The EVA softens your landings for enhanced comfort, and the shock-absorbing properties dampen impact during strides, helping to reduce the risks of discomfort or injury on long, strenuous hikes. Mammut has included a Flextron propulsion plate, which delivers enhanced stability and stiffness for precise, confident edging while ensuring secure foot placement on technical terrain. An Ortholite insole completes the midsole, which offers instant step-in comfort.

Vibram XS Trek Outsole

Using a Vibram XS Trek rubber outsole, the Alnasca IV delivers an abundance of grip while remaining incredibly durable. The outsole provides exceptional stability and grip on varied terrain giving you the confidence to take on the trickiest of trails. The flexible properties of the outsole allow feet to move comfortably and naturally, whereas the grippy nature of the sole provides you with the traction necessary on ever-changing terrain. The shoes include a climbing zone in the toe area: a flat, smooth section of rubber designed to maximise surface contact and grip on rock.
