Waterproof Ripstop Upper

Designed to keep your feet comfortable, dry and ventilated the Merrell Altalight Mid Walking Boots have been constructed using a nylon ripstop mesh upper. The mesh acts as a lightweight second skin to ensure you are able to go the distance in complete comfort. Perforations in the fabric encourage cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up to create a healthy environment for your foot to thrive in plus, a waterproof membrane has also been used within the shoes to seal out water and let moisture escape. The membrane developed by Merrell is guaranteed to seal moisture out to keep your feet dry. In addition to this, the membrane will let moisture out of it, which will mean that as you begin to sweat, the moisture and warm air that is building up within the boots can escape out, where it is then replaced by cooler air from outside of the boots. As well as this, the Altalight features a Stratafuse exoskeleton which works to provide a glove-like fit and extremely lightweight support. The exoskeleton supports the foot to ensure a close and comfortable fit. A bellows tongue exists to reduce dirt ingress and pull loop allows for an easy on/off. Lastly, a traditional lace closure locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can run distraction-free.

EVA Midsole

The midsole has been constructed using different technologies to ensure long-lasting comfort and increased cushioning. EVA within the midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. An air cushion also features in the midsole to provide shock absorption and stability. The air cushion features in the heel to reduce stress on the foot with each step; this, in turn, lesses the impact during heel strikes and helps to cradle the heel to maintain proper alignment. A kinetic fit base removable insole which provides flexible support for all-day wear. Contoured to your foot, the insole provides flexible intuitive support for connected and protected movements. Designed to gently support the foot in key areas of the foot to encourage muscles to stay in a relaxed athletic position. this helps to reduce fatigue. Completing the midsole is lightweight flexplate technology which provides torsional rigidity.

Vibram Megagrip

Developed using a Vibram Megagrip outsole, the Altalight provides extreme grip and traction for all surface wear. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the extremely durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. Ensuring multi-directional grip the outsole ensures traction on varied terrain ensuring confident footing on varied terrain. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Completing the outsole are 5mm lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs are able to anchor the foot into the wet and muddy ground, securing you into place whilst also forming a solid base to push off from.
