Waterproof PU Leather Upper

The upper of the Forestbound Mid has been constructed using a waterproof leather material to keep you dry and protected as you move. This will help to improve performance and comfort, ensuring you enjoy tackling the difficult and arduous terrain. Working alongside the durable, resilient leather is a breathable mesh lining which encourages cool air to circulate, creating a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Additionally, excess sweat and moisture is actively and efficiently wicked away, leaving your feet cool and composed as you strive for the best results and performance. Furthermore, M Select FRESH technology provides antimicrobial properties to eliminate odours and bad smells for a fresh feel inside the shoe. A padded collar and heel add further comfort and a cushioned feel, supporting your feet as you put them through their paces.

When out walking or hiking on difficult, unpredictable terrain it is important your shoe offers ample protection from any debris or sharp objects you may encounter. The Forestbount Mid contains a protective die cut rubber rand and toe cap to prevent any unwelcome discomfort or injuries. This adds further durability and protective qualities. A kinetic fit BASE insole contours to the shape of your feet for flexible support and protective movements, adding stability and control as you walk. Rounding off the upper is the traditional lacing system, offering a secure-locked in fit and feel.

EVA Midsole

An EVA compound resides in the midsole for extreme cushioning and comfort to help improve the feel and performance of the shoe, especially on unpredictable terrain. The EVA also contains shock absorption properties and is highly responsive to help lessen the burden placed on your knees and joints. Completing the midsole is the moulded nylon arch shank, a supportive structure which reduces the impact placed upon your body and improving the protection to your arches and minimising foot fatigue in the process.

M Select GRIP Outsole

Merrell have incorporated their M Select GRIP technology into the outsole for supreme grip and traction over variable terrain. The outsole helps to deliver a firm, assured footing and provides support when making any aggressive or unnatural movements. The 5mm lug depth adds stability and control, particularly when making your way through both the wet and the dry ground as well as mixed terrain.
