The Black Ice Jacket is the most versatile down jacket ever created. Designed for rugged mountaineering days, it utilises PrimaLoft GOLD Insulation Down Blend that enables the insulation to dry faster and stay warmer for longer. It features zoned boxwall panels in the main helping to reduce the number of cold sports and creating evenly filled panels of high-quality goose down and synthetic blend. Combined with the stitch through construction in the sleeves for low bulk and increased freedom of movement. The Black Ice is perfect for cold winter days and nights either on the move or resting.
The Montane Black Ice Running Jacket is equipped with PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Down Blend which is a blend of 30% ultra-fine synthetic PrimaLoft fibres and 70% water repellent natural goose down, Primaloft Gold Insulation Down Blend is the no compromise ultimate fusion. It offers the same warmth as 650 fill power down and water resistance that maintains 95% of its warmth when wet. This game changing innovation has all the lightweight warmth, loft, packability and comfort of standard goose down, but with an outstanding wet-weather thermal performance that dries 4x faster. Made with an environmentally safe water resistant technology free of fluorocarbons. Additionally developed with the lightweight yet tough, Barrier Lite RS which is a nylon rip-stop fabric with a DWR coating, perfect for protecting the down-blend insulation. With a PEAQ Down lining, it provides ultimate next-to-skin comfort, high breathability and fast drying properties. Fitted with a stitch through construction on the sleeves, it reduces the bulk and improves freedom of movement which is needed when out in the mountains, while the articulated arms for reach high movements are tailored specifically to reduce hem lift ensuring needed coverage.
The jacket features a fully adjustable helmet compatible hood with a three point adjustment system, with an adjustable face aperture with external cord exits for quick adjustments to cinch in around the face to keep the warmth in. Also constructed with a hood visor which is stiffened with a foam insert and a wire on the lip for adjustability and a Barrier Lite RS lining inside the hood for additional water repellency. An internal elastic loop and hook on the rear hood, fitted with a drawcord allows the hood to be rolled down and stowed away whilst not in use during windy conditions.
The full-length zip is created with a baffled two way YKK VISLON front zip for ease of use with a backpack or climbing harness and to provide comfort when the zip is fully up, a roll over beardguard with a soft microfleece is located on the inside. For when you want to keep the warmth in, the internal waist drawcord can be adjusted for a close fit around the body while the Barrier Lite RS hem lining helps for additional storm protection.
The jacket is equipped with many pockets, firstly two fine microfleece lined hand-warmer pockets with YKK VISLON zips, an external zipped chest pocket which is perfect for keeping valuables in, an internal zipped security pocket and a fine mesh water bottle pocket.
