Montane Alpine Stretch Gloves
The first thing you notice when you stick your hand into a pair of Montane Alpine Stretch gloves is how incredibly comfortable and cosy they feel. Montane's glove shape is ultra accurate and these burly yet soft and stretchy gloves feel fantastic. Activity wise, they're aimed at virtually any cold-weather mountain sport.
Montane have used their own four-way stretch Chameleon softshell fabric to construct these gloves. It is a tough woven nylon material that resists abrasion yet is soft and supple to provide full dexterity. The Chameleon fabric is highly water resistant and is backed up by a fully waterproof FREEFLOW Mantle inner lining; this belt and braces approach keeps your hands dry in the most extreme conditions. Insulation is provided by Primaloft Gold on the back of the hand and a deep pile DRYACTIV 2000 fleece on the palm. Primaloft Gold is the most thermally efficient synthetic insulation available, offers a high warmth to weight ratio and provides warmth even when soaking wet. The DRYACTIV 2000 deep pile fleece lining provides instant comfort and beds down to the shape of your hand allowing full dexterity through the fingers and palm area; it also wicks moisture superbly to keep your hands dry and comfortable. A tough and water resistant leather is used to reinforce the palm and fourchettes (the strip of fabric under the fingers) and the fingers themselves have a box construction and roll tip to improve dexterity. A long gauntlet keeps the vulnerable wrist area warm and forms a good insulated seal under your shell cuffs, while an adjustable locking wrist cinch strap reduces fabric across the back of the hand. A small loop on the finger allows you to hang the gloves from your harness when not in use.
