Designed to provide protection in extreme environments, the Montane Apex 8000 Down Jacket is perfect for high altitude outdoor adventures. Featuring Pertex Quantum Pro, the jacket uses an ultra thin water resistant coating to provide increased weather resistance for extreme conditions. Pertex Quantum Pro delivers a high level of water resistance whilst remaining lightweight and breathable for all temperature comfort. The durable nature of the fabric works to give you peace of mind on tough ascents, it provides lightweight abrasion resistance so you'll never have to worry about tears. Pertex Quantum Pro is ideal for use in cold or damp environments where keeping warm and dry is crucial. As well as this, the Pertex fabrication maximises the effiecency of insulation to keep you toasty and warm when temperatures drop. Within the jacket, 500g of 90/10 water-resistant fluorocarbon-free HyperDRY goose down at 850+ fill keeps you warm in extreme conditions.The HyperDRY Down provides maximum loft to keep you warm and snug. HyperDRY has an advanced treatment applied that resists heat robbing moisture and retains its loft even in damp conditions, making it perfect for wet weather adventures. The 850-fill down insulation which offers optimal warmth-to-weight ratio and compressibility. Down provides more insulation per ounce than any other material, making it the optimal insulator. 850 fill power is on the higher end of the downrating scale, so you can rely on it providing great warmth and comfort in adverse conditions. As well as this, an additional 60g/m2 of PrimaLoft Gold Insulation with Cross Core technology has been used across the back and shoulders to increases warmth where you need it the most.

Additionally, the fully adjustable insulated helmet-compatible hood provides added protection in adverse weather conditions plus, it can be adjusted to find the perfect fit. The three-point adjustment and protective face aperture baffle allows you to cinch down the fit to ensure complete protection when harsh weather rolls in. The collar is designed to accommodate an oxygen mask plus, it features an insulated internal neck baffle which keeps cold winds at bay. The boxwall construction throughout further encourages warmth for optimum thermal efficiency whilst the adjustable hem with internal waist drawcord helps to minimise heat loss. Articulated arms ensure high reach movements so you'll never feel restricted whilst pit zips allow you to increase ventilation should you get overheated. As well as this, the full-length two-way YKK VISLON front zip can be used to increase ventilation should you need it. The zip features a double insulated storm flap to keep cold winds from entering inside the jacket. To keep your hands warm integrated mittens with integral thumb loops can be used at anytime whilst two microfleece hand pockets offer further warm and they can store essential items. The jacket also feature two internal drop in pockets, two chest pockets and a zipped internal chest pocket. The long cut provides ample overlap with salopettes or leg wear and attachment points allows you to store your gloved when they're not in use. Completing the Montane Apex 8000 Down Jacket is a compression stuff sac and storage bag which allow the jacket to be packed down when you reach base camp.
