What is Gait Analysis?
A gait analysis is an assessment of how your body moves while you run. Because the right shoe is dictated by your entire body, not just your feet, Ochy's AI-powered tool evaluates your movement throughout your whole running stride to see how efficiently you absorb impact, maintain alignment, and generate forward momentum.

What Does it Measure?
Your personalised assessment looks at key areas across your entire stride, including:
Footstrike & Pronation – How your foot lands, rolls, and absorbs impact.
Running Posture – How your upper body is positioned throughout the gait cycle.
Cadence – Your step rate and overall running rhythm.
Pelvic Stability – How efficiently your hips remain aligned while running.
Lower Limb Alignment – How your hips, knees, and ankles work together.
Running Symmetry – Identifying movement differences between your left and right side.
By combining these insights, we can pinpoint the exact running shoe best suited to your unique biomechanics.

The Three Types of Pronation
| Foot Movement | What It Means | Best Shoe Type |
|---|---|---|
| Neutral | The foot rolls inward a natural, healthy amount. Impact is absorbed efficiently while maintaining good alignment. | Neutral Running Shoes |
| Overpronation | The foot rolls inward more than expected, which can place additional stress on your ankles, knees and hips. | Stability Running Shoes (for added support) |
| Underpronation (Supination) |
The foot rolls inward less than expected, meaning more impact is absorbed along the outside edge of the foot. |
Cushioned Neutral Running Shoes (for maximum shock absorption) |
