Engineered Mesh Upper
The upper of the Vomero Plus has been created using a soft and stretchy, engineered mesh that wraps your feet in breathable comfort. The uppers are highly adaptable, moulding to your foot shape, and provide a secure, comfortable fit. Micro-perforations within the fabric encourage cool air to circulate the shoe while allowing built-up heat and vapour to escape, for a pleasant cooling experience. Built on an MR-10 last, it delivers a great, consistent fit. For added stability and support, Nike has included a heel counter, which is combined with the traditional lacing system and webbed lace loops for a locked-in fit. This provides a secure feel that inspires confidence, allowing you to push your limits without worrying about in-shoe slippage. For a plush feel, a padded tongue, lining, and heel collar have been introduced, while the heel loop helps make putting on/off quick and easy. The upper is finished with reflective elements, ensuring you remain visible in low-light conditions, allowing you to continue with your late-night and early-morning training sessions.
ZoomX Foam Midsole
The midsole has been crafted using a full-length platform of Nike's ultra-responsive ZoomX foam. Ultra-light and super-responsive, the midsole material delivers Nike's greatest energy return yet, absorbing impact and then expelling it back out for a bounce-like effect. This energy-return technology reduces superfluous muscle power, diminishes fatigue and enhances performance. The revolutionary ZoomX foam is manufactured from Pebax, a compound conventionally used in plastic bridges and other moulded parts and yields lightweight, soft and springy cushioning. Until now, these three characteristics (collectively) have proven nearly impossible to achieve. Pebax has a lower density than some thermoplastic alternatives, making it lighter, flexible and more impact-resistant, while providing a higher capacity for energy return. When blown into a foam, these properties remain, gifting a lively underfoot feeling that encourages you to run fast. Signalling the incredible resilience of ZoomX, the tiny creases on every midsole do not impact the foam's performance; these beauty marks are results of the autoclave process, which places the foam under extreme heat and pressure. The ZoomX sheets are then compressed in a Phylon preform, which shapes the midsole parts. Because the special foam is so lightweight (one-third the weight of Cushlon), Nike can use more of it to separate your foot from the road; this means you get a thick and supportive midsole that will spare your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving concrete. The midsole also features a wider platform and raised sidewalls to offset ZoomX softness and improve steadiness while a rockered construction, utilising the power of your last step to push you into your next one so you run further faster with less effort.
Thin Durable Rubber Outsole
Completing the Vomero Plus is a durable rubber outsole that reduces weight without reducing longevity. The rubber forms a solid bond with the ground below for superior grip, keeping you focused on the run rather than slipping. The rubber provides traction on variable road surfaces, allowing you to propel forward and change direction easily and confidently.
