Puma evoSPEED Star 9 Junior Running Spikes
Built for the kid that is looking for an affordable, entry level track spike. The evoSPEED Star 9 is the perfect versatile, all- round spike for a multitude of track and field events. Starting with sprint events like the 100m -all the way up to 10K distances, hurdles and jumps.
Breathable Mesh Upper
Providing lightweight breathability and protection while on the go, the upper of the evoSPEED Star 9 ensures comfortability at all times. Made with tight-knitted mesh, dirt is prevented from entering the shoe without sacrificing air flow, with perforations within the upper allowing for air to circulate effectively around the foot. Helping heat to escape and in turn allowing cool freshness to enter, reducing fatigue and boosting motivation to push onwards. The material causes minimal irritation, allowing for barefoot use while a suede tongue has been used to enhance comfort on the top of the foot and is tacked down on the medial sides to prevent it sliding about. An internal heel counter has been added, effectively locking the heel into place, which is complimented by the traditional lacing system that stops the midfoot moving away from the shoe for a completely secure fit.
EVA Midsole
Providing cushioning to all activities, the Midsole of the evoSPEED Star 9 consists of EVA foam for lasting comfort. When striking down on unforgiving surfaces, shock is absorbed into the foam, dissipating direct impact and protecting joints and growing feet from injury. The foam is die-cut for long lasting responsive cushioning and comfort. While the EVA sockliner has also been die-cut alongside cemented into the strobel board for added durability.
EVERTRACK Outsole
Completing the spikes is a full-length Evertrack rubber outsole. This has been utilised in high-wear areas for added durability and includes ridges to increase grip when on the track. The outsole also uses a curved and tapered last that brings the runner up onto their toes for maximum speed and propulsion. The spikes also feature a forefoot Pebax plate that uses six changeable spike pin receptacles that are strategically-placed. The plate's stiff feel helps to propel you forward, so you can pick up the pace.
