Engineered Mesh Upper

Designed to provide a smooth, glove-like fit and feel, the upper of the Salomon Phantasm 2 Running Shoes has been constructed using an engineered mesh upper. The single-layer mesh ensures enhanced breathability whilst remaining as lightweight as possible. Perforations within the fabric create a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in; the mesh allows cool air to flow into the garment whilst, at the same time allowing hot humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. The upper also features pockets of padding increasing foothold and enhancing the overall comfort. As well as this, the seamless featherlight collar is soft, comfortable and minimalist without sacrificing fit. Completing the upper is a standard lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

Energy Surge Midsole

The midsole has been constructed using Salomon's signature Energy Midsole that provides lightweight and responsive cushioning. It has been created by combining EVA and Olefin [OBC], this creates durable cushioning and bouncy, energy return. The midsole provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection for all-day wear. Towards the bottom, the midsole is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. As well as this, an R.Camber has also been used within the midsole to provide lightweight cushioning and comfort. Inspired by Salomon's ski heritage, this curved midsole geometry helps you feel like you are floating over the ground. The reverse camber allows you to spend less time on the ground and therefore allows for a faster ride. Finishing the midsole is the Energy Blade, this is a stiff composite fibre plate, that has been designed to promote faster forward propulsion from landing to toe-off, helping to save waste and improve running efficiency, helping you to hit those PB'S.

All Terrain Contagrip Outsole

Tackle any surfaces and conditions with supreme confidence that you won't be let down by your shoe's grip. Using Contagrip All Terrain, the outsole is able to form a solid grip between the shoe and ground. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, which means long-term control is guaranteed.
