Sprayway Selen Jacket

If you are exposed on a freezing and windy mountaintop, or just simply walking in bad weather conditions, the Sprayway Selen Jacket is the perfect companion to help you tackle the most extreme of the elements.

The Selen Jacket boasts using Sprayway's TecSHELL technology. This means that the fabrics that are used in the jacket are lightweight, extremely packable and highly wind resistant. By being densely woven, the material is able to block strong gusts of wind from entering the inside, which would then change the core temperature of the body, making you feel colder. Covered in a DWR, the outer layer of the material has a water resisting coating, which will wick moisture away, which is ideal should you get caught out in a rain shower. Despite its strength in blocking the wind out, the jacket is designed to be durable, able to withstand damage and a certain level of stretch. For maintaining warmth, heat is retained thanks to another Sprayway technology, InsoFILL. This insulation has an especially high loft and level of heat retention. Even when exposed to moisture from rain or snowfall, the fibres trap heat, forming a layer between the jacket and the skin. The soft nature of the insulation will further increase next to skin comfort. A full zip down the front of the jacket is easy to adjust should you feel like you are overheating, or can zipped all the way up for complete protection from the wind. The fully covering hood is able to stretch into shape, thanks to an elastane bound hood, which will ensure that you have full protection and shelter from the rain. The hem and cuffs are similarly elastane bound, means that a draught will be unable to escape up the jacket to make you feel cold. However, this will not compromise comfort, as the elastane sits gently on the waist or wrist. In addition to this, there is a drawcord around the hem, which means that you can easily tighten or loosen the waist to size. For carrying small items, or for warming the hands up in the cold, there are two side pockets with zips for extra security. There is also a zipped pocket on the inside of the jacket, where you can carry more valuable items extra securely. The extremely packable jacket can be stuffed inside a sack that comes with it.

About SPRAYWAY

Founded in 1974 by two outdoor enthusiasts in Manchester, England the brand quickly became one of Britain's leading outdoor clothing companies. Sprayway has been keeping the British public warm, dry and comfortable in all conditions ever since. From humble beginnings out of a garage in Chorlton, Manchester; to kitting out arctic explorers and National Park rangers. Sprayway has been keeping the British public warm, dry and comfortable since 1974.

John Hunt and Simon Wright initially began making sailing clothing as a natural extension of their passion for competitive dinghy sailing. They were also keen mountaineers and recognised a lack of solid, durable and waterproof climbing clothing at the time. Driven on by the famous Manchester climate surrounding them, the two began manufacturing coated waterproof jackets. By 1982 the brand had launched its first GORE-TEX jacket, the Snipe and in 1983 became the first company to machine tape non-GORE-TEX waterproof clothing, named the Hydro-dry range. Hydro-dry remains an integral technology to this day.

Now in its 40th year, the SPRAYWAY brand continues to use innovative fabrics across a wide range of products and continues to produce garments which utilise cutting edge technology whilst remaining true to their Mancunian roots.
