Constructed using a 3-layer GORE-TEX Pro fabric, the Mountain Jacket has got your back when the weather takes a turn for the worse. The 3-layer fabric is a high-performance laminate designed for extreme and demanding activities, offering maximum weather protection, durability and breathability. It is constructed with a rugged outer fabric, the waterproof and windproof GORE-TEX membrane and a robust inner backer to resist abrasion and moisture. The waterproof membrane prevents water from entering the jacket, while allowing heat and vapour to escape, keeping you dry and comfortable inside and out. The outer has been treated with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) finish to enhance water repellency, keeping you dry. Increasing durability, The North Face has incorporated Spectra ripstop into high-wear areas, protecting against knocks and scrapes. Articulated patterning across the jacket has been used to enhance the fit and increase mobility, allowing you to move freely while climbing. A fully adjustable, climbing-helmet-compatible hood with a bonded brim and a riveted cord-lock adjustment system protects against the elements and provides clear vision in rainy conditions. A two-way, YKK VISLON AquaGuard centre front zip with an internal draft flap has been added to provide easy on/off while assisting with temperature control. The draft flap features laser-cut Summit Series microperforations for air permeability, while a soft, brushed tricot overlay at the chin and back of the neck provides next-to-skin comfort. Making it easy to release unwanted heat, underarm vents with YKK AquaGuard zips and bumper stops that help to seal out moisture without the need for a zipper garage. Providing you with a place to store your essentials, the jacket has two chest pockets; the left chest pocket features an internal gear loop and a mesh pouch for organisation. Two harness and pack-compatible alpine pockets have also been added; these pockets all feature YKK AquaGuard zips and bumper stops. Two large internal mesh drop-in pockets are included to provide extra space for items. Completing the Mountain Jacket are Adjustable cuffs with hook-and-loop tabs and an internal hem cinch-cord with riveted cord locks at both sides for adjustability, providing a close and comfortable fit that helps seal out the elements.
