Couch to £5k

These Terms and Conditions apply to the Couch to £5k promotion (the "Promotion") hosted by House of SportsShoes. By participating, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. The Promoter

The promoter is B Sporting Limited, trading as SportsShoes.com, located at 1 The Park, Jubilee Way, Shipley, England, BD18 1QG.


2. Eligibility

The Promotion is open to all runners who can complete a 5k distance.
Participants must have a valid Strava account to provide proof of their run.
Only one entry per person is permitted.
Employees of SportsShoes.com, their families, or anyone professionally connected with the promotion are excluded.
Over 18s only.


3. Health and Safety

Physical Fitness: By entering, participants warrant that they are in good health and have no medical conditions that would make a 5k run hazardous.

Assumption of Risk: Participants acknowledge that running in an urban environment involves inherent risks. House of SportsShoes accepts no liability for personal injury, illness, or death sustained during the challenge, except where caused by the Promoter's negligence.

Public Safety: This is a personal challenge, not a race. Participants must obey the Highway Code, use pedestrian crossings, and remain aware of their surroundings at all times.


4. Data Protection

Data Capture: Participants must provide a valid email address via the in-store QR code to enter.

Marketing Consent: Email addresses will be used for competition administration. If participants "opt-in" via the entry form, they agree to receive marketing communications from SportsShoes.com in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Rights: Participants have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of their data at any time.


5. Operational Guardrails

Verification: To claim the coffee and competition entry, participants must show a staff member a Strava record of a 5k run ending at the store.

Anti-Fraud: The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry where the Strava data suggests the distance was completed via motorized transport, cycling, or other non-running means.

Coffee Availability: The "free coffee" reward is subject to daily in-store capacity and availability. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute this with an alternative reward of equal value.

The Promoter reserves the right to change the campaign name at any time without notice.


6. How to Enter

To enter the competition, participants must:

Complete a 5k run (or further) that concludes at the House of SportsShoes store.

Scan the in-store QR code and enter a valid email address.

Present the confirmation screen and your recorded Strava run to a member of staff at the store counter for verification.


7. Promotion Period

The Promotional period is 08.03.2026 - 18.04.26


8. Prizes and Rewards

The Grand Prize: One winner, selected at random via a verifiably random computer process, will receive £5,000.

Participation Reward: Every runner who successfully completes the challenge and verifies their run in-store will receive one free coffee. The free coffee is subject to availability and "Coffee Outlay" limits.

Unavoidable Changes: the promoter can provide a "reasonable equivalent" prize if the advertised prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond their control.


9. Winner Selection and Notification

The winner of the £5,000 prize will be chosen at random from all verified entries.

The winner will be notified via the email address provided during the QR code entry process.


10. General Terms

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Strava, though Strava has been consulted on the use of their app as proof of completion.

The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the promotion at any time.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
