The ASICS Gel-Trabuco 10 has been re-engineered from top to bottom to assert itself as an all-around trail pioneer. Rugged and comfortable are the two terms that best describe this trail running shoe. It's for the off-road runner seeking excellent durability, protection and grip.

This is my first ever pair of ASICS shoes, so when they arrived I was very excited to test them out on the trails. I love the colour way, they felt very snug and I was eager get out the door and hit the trails. I put these to the test by running over 20KM as a first run which included both on/ off-road and they felt surprisingly very lightweight and cushiony in comparison to other branded shoes that I have worn in the past.
The upper of the shoes is very breathable and offers a lock down feel, which is fantastic. It is very soft and I love the 3D print design details. It almost feels like you’re wearing a road shoe. The toe box has sufficient room and provides great flexibility. Love the idea of the lace garage where it hides the lace ends and knots, works a treat. Kudos to the R&D team!

ASICS have included their Flytefoam midsole which offers such a smooth comfortable ride, as heel striker myself I felt on rocky rugged terrain it gave me that extra cushioning which made it very pleasant to run in.
With 5mm lugs, traction is absolutely fantastic and super durable with it’s ‘rock protection’ plate inside giving you the extra protection you need from sharp rocks etc. You can barely feel and notice it’s there so that’s a winner in my eyes!
I tested a size 7 in these shoes and I must admit they’re true to size and lightweight. They don’t feel too rigid and they offer such versatility in comparison to some of the other trail shoes I have. They’re really breathable even on a very hot day!

OVERALL
I feel these shoes are suited from your beginner trail runner to the elite. It certainly has everything you need for your every day runs out in the trails, it’s versatile, comfortable and provides fantastic support on the arch. I did not have any issues on foot slippage, it’s great cushioning and it’s traction makes it such a great trail shoe. I will add this to my shoe rotation list. I just can’t fault it!
