What's new in the Cloudmonster range?

As of March and April 2026, the Cloudmonster family has given birth to three new releases: the third iteration of the original Cloudmonster in the Cloudmonster 3; an evolution of the Cloudmonster 3 in the Cloudmonster 3 Hyper; and an innovation first in the LightSpray™ Cloudmonster 3 Hyper.

Each of these Cloudmonster models shares the same DNA, the fan-favourite midsole geometry built around On signature CloudTec® cushioning. This distinctive hollowed-out midsole is designed to absorb impact while maintaining a stable, cushioned ride that runners have come to recognise across the range.

Paired with Helion™ superfoam, the result is a max-cushioned platform that delivers soft landings and a smooth, forward-rolling transition. It’s this combination that has made the Cloudmonster range so popular for long-distance training and racing, where comfort and efficiency are key. Each of these 3 models offer a slightly different to approach a slightly different approach to how that performance is delivered, discover the updates and how they can fit into your current shoe rotation. 

Cloudmonster 3ㅤ

The Cloudmonster 3 takes cushioning further than ever before, now featuring a triple-layer CloudTec® midsole, compared to the dual-layer setup of its predecessor. The result is greater impact absorption and a more energetic toe-off, making it better suited to higher-mileage running and long training efforts.

Cloudmonster 3 Hyper

Where the Cloudmonster 3 Hyper differs from the Cloudmonster 3 is its shift towards a more performance-focused ride. The Cloudmonster 3 uses a nylon-blend Speedboard®, a plate-like structure that adds rigidity and helps guide toe-off. In the Hyper, this is removed, creating a more flexible and natural underfoot feel.

Instead, it uses a dual-layer foam setup within the CloudTec® system, combining a top layer of Helion™ HF hyper foam for increased responsiveness with a bottom layer of Helion™ foam for a stable and protective cushioning base. The result is a lighter, more energetic ride designed for faster training sessions and longer efforts where pace becomes a greater focus

LightSpray™ Cloudmonster 3 Hyper

At the top of the range sits the LightSpray™ Cloudmonster 3 Hype, one of the most innovative performance running shoes on that market, defined by the construction of its upper.

Built on the classic Cloudmonster cushioned platform, it features a seamless single-piece upper, using LightSpray™ technology. Rather than being woven or stitched, LightSpray™ is a robotically sprayed construction method that removing the need for traditional lacing or reinforcement. The result is a second-skin fit that significantly reduces weight while improving breathability. This precision fit improves running efficiency where it matters the most, to support fast race day efforts and hight intensity longer training sessions.

If you are looking for a max cushioned daily trainer with powerful energy return, then the Cloudmonster 3 is the best option. For something that provides an equal blend of cushioning and responsiveness over long training runs, then turn to the Cloudmonster 3 Hyper.
