First Impressions: Bold Retro Design and Lightweight Feel
At first glance, it’s clear that the Saucony Endorphin Azura has been designed with performance in mind. The shoe features a substantial stack height, immediately giving the impression of stability and protection.
Compared to other models in the Endorphin family, such as the Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 or Saucony Endorphin Speed 5, Nicolas found the Azura noticeably more stable, even though the shoes weigh roughly the same.
Visually, the Endorphin Azura is a real eye-catcher. Its retro-inspired design with bright fluorescent colours gives the shoe an unique look that definitely stands out on the run.

Fit: Secure Hold with a Roomy Toe Box
In terms of sizing, the Saucony Endorphin Azura fits true to size compared to other models from the brand. The moment you slip the shoe on, you immediately notice how comfortable and lightweight it feels. Thanks to a small protective foam pad around the heel and tongue, the foot sits comfortably inside the shoe without creating pressure points.
The forefoot features a slightly wider toe box, which enhances overall comfort during runs. The mesh upper offers impressive breathability and adapts well to the shape of the foot while maintaining good structure and stability.
According to Nicolas, the overall support is one of the shoe’s strengths: “The support is excellent and you feel secure inside with your foot well wrapped.”

ㅤ
Midsole: Stable Cushioning with Natural Responsiveness
The midsole of the Endorphin Azura delivers a slightly firmer cushioning, which contributes to the shoe’s overall stability and control during the run.
The Endorphin Azura isn’t part of the plated racing category, but it still offers a responsive and natural ride when picking up the pace. As Nicolas explains: “Energy return is not the model's main strength compared to plated models, but the responsiveness still makes it easy to reach impressive speeds during fast interval or threshold sessions.”
ㅤ
Outsole: Durability and Grip
The outsole rubber feels relatively firm and durable. After testing across different surfaces, Nicolas did not notice any visible signs of wear, which suggests that the shoe should offer good durability during regular training.
Grip is another strong point of the shoe. The outsole performs well on asphalt, slightly uneven roads and even when cornering at higher speeds. This reliable traction highlights the shoe’s versatility across a range of training environments.

Best Use: A Running Shoe for Varied Training
Without a doubt, the real strength of the Endorphin Azura lies in its versatility as it performs well across a wide range of running sessions. Nicolas highlights its flexibility during training: “This is the ideal shoe for someone who only wants one pair in their rotation. It allows you to do everything well!”
While the shoe can also handle easier runs, Nicolas notes that runners who prioritise maximum softness during recovery sessions may prefer a shoe with slightly softer cushioning.
Overall, the model is particularly well suited for intermediate runners who want a balanced combination of comfort, stability and moderate speed potential without moving into full carbon-plated racing territory.

Verdict
After testing the shoe across a variety of runs, Nicolas highlights what stands out most to him: “For a non-plated model that is not competition-oriented, the combination of lightness and responsiveness is a major strength of the Endorphin Azura.”
The slightly firm cushioning may take some time to get used to and can initially lead to mild calf soreness. However, in the long run, it encourages the foot and posterior chain to work more actively.

ㅤ
Within Nicolas' current rotation, the Azura fills the gap between easy everyday trainers and aggressive race shoes. It offers enough dynamics for faster workouts while maintaining the stability and natural ride that many runners appreciate during daily training.
For runners looking for a versatile trainer that delivers speed potential without relying on a plate, the Saucony Endorphin Azura stands out as a well-balanced and reliable option.
